Famous since 1500s and when it first appeared on a Puerto Rican cookbook in 1800s? this is a national and cultural dish for us and this can be easily verified, we don’t need to start saying anything. Y’all are the ones that want to claim it because it seems y’all don’t like mangu anymore and are not creative with your cuisine. There’s only one mofongo and it’s the Puerto Rican mofongo.

Mofongo is an authentic Puerto Rican dish. 🇵🇷 We have a cookbook with the recipe the book was written more than 150yrs ago. DR has been doing the PR Mofongo for 23 o 24 years now.
