    Hi rakesh, As Salesforce provide some Standard Object such as Account, Contact, Lead and many more, Salesforce also provides us the standard object called User object which store the data of the user in Salesforce. Each time a User is created means a record is created in User objects.This also contains the community user records.

  • @sachinrnayak3420

    @sachinrnayak3420

    No, standard objects cannot be on the detail side of the master detail with custom object in the master side. If a custom object is on the master side and in the detail we cannot have standard object. Standard object in detail side is only applicable if the standard object is in the master side too.

    Yes it's a bit similar Master-Detail Relationship in Salesforce is a parent-child relationship in which the master object controls certain behaviors of the detail object. When a record of the master object is deleted, its related detail records are also deleted.

    Can we convert look up to master detail? and what if we create MD after we are have some records in the object?

  • @sachinrnayak3420

    @sachinrnayak3420

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes we can convert lookup to masterdetail, but we have to make sure that there must be a value in the lookup field on all the records. So then only we can convert lookup to masterdetail. You cannot create a new Master-Detail relationship on an existing custom object if records already exist. When we try to create Master Detail relationship usually the above error will not be displayed before creating any records in Child Object.

    Hi hareesh, However, the standard object cannot be on the detail side of a relationship with a custom object. Its data can appear as a custom related list on page layouts for the other object. Many-to-many, You can use master-detail relationships to model many-to-many relationships between any two objects.

    1 more important point: If you create a record in child and then associate it with a master, we can't do that. We will always first create relationship between objects and then fill records in child. But, if we mistakenly create record first before creating master-detail relationship and want to establish master-detail, we must first join the objects via lookup relationship and then convert that relationship to master-detail.

    @@SalesforceHulk I was just contributing a point from my end which I learnt while preparing for interviews. I am giving some Salesforce developer interviews now and watching your tutorials helps me to prepare for them. They are very well explained and concise. Thank you for that.
