A great example of this is the movie Thor, there's a lot of Loki scenes in that...

My students would hear “low key” and automatically say that it’s secretive light. Like, the expression, “I low key learned something new from Wolfcrow.” Keep it up my dude. Stay creative.
This Is hands down one of the most under appreciated KZread channels out there
This channel is a total treasure trove!! Keep up the good work sir.
I learn a lot with your videos, I hope someday I can show you my own film. Thankyou.
WOW!!! Very efficiently and effective tutorial! I love your teaching style, to the point with every word holding weight. Thanks yet again 💯
You are giving a complete information about the topic which you choose. Thank you sir...
Another beautiful video!!!! Great info presented perfectly!!!!
Love your videos. I’ve learned so much from your content!
Loved that you used In Bruges as an example
I learned a lot things from watching your videos. Thank you mate!
Another great video. Thanks for all
Thank you sir, simple and easy to understand explanation.
Great video! Thank you so much for the explanation. I always assumed high key meant bright foreground and dark background, with low key being the opposite. It all makes sense now! 👊🏽🙏🏼
Thank you so much. It was very effective !
love this video bro. Thanks
This was so well done.
Very cool way of explaining it!
Great video, thank you!
Yes, thank you, well explained.

Think I found my favorite channel.
very nice video sareesh......
You used Seinfeld in its original aspect ratio!?! I love this channel!
Loved the loki pun😂
Love you sir.....
Awesome stuff! Speaking of Loki, have you all seen the new trailer? 😆
Loving your channel - I’ve currently got th Fuji X-T3, but was thinking about getting the BMPCC4K or gh5 instead. Do you think this is a mistake? I am thinking of investing more into EF glass for general filmmaking as that would be smarter than X mount, right?
Best video ever
Hi I'm just wondering what college did you go to or did you get your info online? You are really helpful and clear thanks
solid
Sorry Sareesh, but this is wrong info. Contrast ratio is the ratio between your Key light (Main source) and Fill light(Shadows) High Key = LOW Key to fill ratio. e.g 1:1, 2:1 and Low key = HIGH Key to fill ratio. e.g 8:1. The meter reading of the background is not taken into consideration while measuring your contrast ratio.
Great. Very good clarification on Key-lightings.
Hello sareesh sir, I am big fan now.. do you conduct any cinematography classes around Pune? Can you help me suggest anyone.. Regards.
Plz - where is the link for cheap diy lighting gears that deliver???
a good example of high key going into low key scenes is the Inglorious Bastards intro.
Which is the movie shown by Tarkowski?
what light be used behind your head.
Hi from Russia!
How about low life lighthing?
hi, I just want to get course , but the main problem is I'm not very much good in English, u used to explain everything in English only & I can't understand your explanation so plz tell me the simple way, I have GH5 & facing non cinematic video looks issue, I have researched a lot here & there since 2018 but still I really don't know the real reasons behind a non cinematic look. plz help me, I hope you ll receive this msg. thanks
Can you make a video about Zack Snyder?
Love your content but please consider evaluating how you approach recording your voice. You have distortion and clipping all over your track, and this makes it difficult to fully appreciate your work.
complete misinterpretation of the terms. High key and Low Key has nothing to do with relating background to the subject. How Low or High you maintain the lighting "contrast ratio" in relation to your "Key light" is all about High-Key or Low-Key. It can either be background or your subject or both . Its the ratio between Key and Fill, i.e Light and Shadow. Not Subject and Background. And there's nothing separate as high-key for photography and high-key for cinematography mentioned as disclaimer at the beginning.
grading bro
I'm sorry, but your descriptions are completely wrong. High Key and Low Key lighting are not at all limited to film lighting, and they have nothing to do with the difference in exposure between the subject and background. High Key lighting describes lighting that reduces or eliminates shadows, no matter where they are - on the set or on the subject. Low Key lighting describes a scene with hard or harsh shadows - you see a lot of low key lighting in film noir films; but it is not limited to that, either. When a subject has a split light effect on their face (half of the face lit, half in shadow), you have a low key lighting scenario (ie, high contrast ratio, which you touch on but then ignore). It's not about comparing the subject to the background - you can have a daylight scene that is low key if you know what you're doing.

dude.. thank you.. this was misinformation from the begining. you said it perfectly,. nothing AT ALL to do with backround to subject exposure ratio
where's kyra does this really well
Origin Kerala or Karnataka?
Where the hell's my Joker clip?
DEF got your lighting down bro .. Now get your Audio down to .. your clipping alot ;)
I think the things u taught was wrong. High key refers to there is nearly no any shadows in subject’s face or surface. Low key means that there are some shadows on the face and it is not light evenly. Low contrast means there is no big difference between the subject and background. High contrast means there is huge difference between the subject and background. Please make some correction about contents in this video.
Sound clipping
This video is misleading. Key is not about background, but about the image as a whole. In low key major part of the image is (very) dark. There is just a few bright areas. In high key, it is the opostite: majority of the image is very bright, overexposed even, with just some dark areas. In movies, high key is very rare. Low key is very common.
What happened to your usual setup. This doesnt look as good
is your mic inside a pillow?
Really well put content. But what's with the fake accent.
Again, another mediocre video, aimed at amateurs in need of help, but providing not the right information.
