    I've always had problems with the Oak and Holly Kings and the solstices. It makes more sense to me for them to be more associated with the equinoxes. Around the vernal equinox is when oak leaves start to unfurl and the autumn equinox is when the leaves are dying so, to me, the equinoxes are when the changes in waxing and waning vegetation occur
