Although this isnt a normal ritual we would do, it is a real pagan ritual. However this is a wiccan ritual so your version of paganism may be different to theirs, since ive found this is quite normal for the wiccans.

No stranger than some more mainstream religious rituals I've seen. Though I must say they do seem to have a fondness for the dramatic. I can't say that ritual is pointless since it seems to fulfill some mutual need, spiritual, emotional, or both. And since they aren't harming anybody there is no basis to judge.

For large groups this is pretty common. All of it is stuff I do, just not as extravagant as this. It's important to cast a magic circle and invoke the 4 elements before doing any ritual work. I don't usually bring song and dance into it, but again it is pretty common.

I'm not a Wiccan, I'm a norse pagan, but I wouldn't want to be doing rituals in a church, we go outside in nature.

harmless weirdo's. let them be. at least they are dedicating their lives to some form of self betterment. They neither bother nor hurt no one and I have never seen these groups ever persecute or push their beliefs on any one else.

while I recognize similar rituals to a degree, it seems more like LARPing rather than a truly anthropological religious theatre that more mainstream religions practice. There seems no depth to it --either intellectually or socially--other than perhaps play. As play it might fulfill a psychological need I suppose.

They are LARPers who just like making Christians angry, which I would add doesn’t work until they start falsely calling our holidays pagan, but even then it takes a lot effort to do that.

When Constantine invented Christianity he was forced to keep many Roman deities and beliefs in place so as to allow the new religion to take hold. He then wrote the New Testament to back up his new religion. That's why all the major christian holidays fall on Roman holidays that predated the Jewish cult that grew up around Jesus Christ. The sad thing is that while the new Christianist religion stopped religious fighting and unified Roman religion under the disguise of Christianism, the new religion eventually destabilized an already fragile Roman Empire.

Constintine invented Christianism and wrote the New Testament to unify everyone. Christianism is nothing more than the ancient Roman religion under new names for holidays and gods. The Roman god that was killed and rose from the dead was Mithras and had been worshipped 900 years before he was renamed Jesus Christ. Mithras was also born of a virgin on the 25th of December and was consider the sun (son) of god. Jesus Christ is a carbon copy of Mithras.

Wicca is mostly nature based, not all witches identify as Wiccans and not all Wiccans are witches. Someone who studies witchcraft may choose to not follow the Wicca belief at all and viceversa. At least that's what I know from the Western form of witchcraft.

Every time I go to one of these I wind up eating an ounce of shrooms, then find myself peaking out of control, robbing a 711 completely nude imagining I'm a bear.

I grew up witnessing my mother's side of the family practice paganism. It is nothing like this. They don't do theatrics such as this. They offer animals or coins/gold/silver to nature but my uncle whispers when he speaks to other beings or nature.

Wiccans are a very modern and typically American form of paganism. No European identifies with any hippy wiccan paganism and Here in Europe we don't do all this crap. No hippy come one come all crap either. Honour our ancestors, our history and culture, honour the gods and honour to our family.

Nevertheless, Crowley was a powerful Magician and deserves our respect. In the HOGD we continue to use his masterpiece for ritual correspondences. Crowley never passed beyond the grade of 3=8 so he actually knew very little about the Inner Order of Rosicrucians (R†C) and consequently he knew very few secrets to reveal.

i’d argue that our cakes and wine are very similar to your eucharist, and our chanting very similar to your hymns, and our initiation titles rather similar to your statuses within the Church. but yes, we are the clowns! at the end of the day, at least we can proudly say our organisation isn’t responsible for the murder, rape and conversion of Irish and Native American people. i genuinely mean no hate, i study religion for fun as well as for a-levels. your religion is of great interest and respect to me. but i’d like it if you’d take an interest in others beliefs too, and try to learn about them in the most non judgemental way possible, as well as understanding there’s problems within the Christian Faith too
