@@suntzu94 this isn't Brexit this is a domestic policy in which richer regions give some resources to the poor regions

There have always been local MPs sitting in the Central Governmental Institutional buildings in London, and also every city has a Mayor. Levelling up it will never work....it's easier for those places to slowly die....

A lot of those locations died a long time ago. There is no reason why they can't be reborn, but the issue is the cost of it. While our country is 2 trillions in debt, with one million legal migrants unemployed. It is a National State of Emergency and there has to be mass deportations.

Difficult to afford levelling up when there one million legal migrants unemployed and the UK is two trillion in debt!

So we’re dividing the UK into communes?

no, "Leveling Up" (sic) is just a rebranding of Libertarian anti-State State Governmental policy of "boot strapping" - aka what Ruth Wilson Gilmore names "organized abandonment".

It has never been like that before anyway, there had always been regions.. and that, central government, had and can give to the different local regions as well... What IS clear is that, there is a lot less "equalness".. because SOME individuals will have connections, and they HOARD the money. If this happens.. then what is likely to happen anyway? The people in the know or was involved in the designing of the original policies would always get access to such things. And there is now the OTHER issues as well.. or people not working with others, in a deliberate way.. So therefore.. most people, are only "expanding their own repetoires"... as well.. and redo the same thing in another city and in another city etc etc etc. Until THEY are okay.. but in reality... I mean... This devolution, to me, is basically giving away the powers.. to those regions... and that also included foreign directive investments as well... THIS is another issue too.... But are people really ready since they have never been international businessmen ??... The one that happened near where I live, is one of those situation. "We wil invest in your city, from China." But it ended up not being so... and I bet that, they invested and got the wind farms in the end... I bet that happened. Cos all those companies wanted were to increase their money amount... as they wanted a hotel.. but the hotel did not go ahead.. and now it ended up as this instead. Which they are milking it.. and increasing the... level of... rents and payments from us.
