hahaha i can imagine, Job Shadowing is not soo known but suuuper helpful, it should definitely be more popular.

I think job shadowing is so important. I did an internship in college (so similar - you get the idea of the job) and knew right away I did not want to do that job!

@@jenniferbutcher1610 WOOWW that is a complete change!! I love to hear about these experiences, it just makes me want to keep going. The mind and experiences in life are so different and changing all the time and it affects each one of us in a different way making us also change our path. How did you decide to make that change? Was it something from Criminology that you didn't like?

I’m a college student about to finish 47 credits in Early Childhood Education. I will when obtained a state certificate and can do and be whatever I want. On my resume in my experience I’ve always worked and volunteered in childcare, customer services, and office setting. Most importantly, I’m new to the work field and find it overwhelming. There’s so much in the media and things to learn and what not. I also work part-time in childcare as I finish my last class which is at the crossroads right now. Out of all this information, I have hobbies that might be useful in journalism and creative writing but I’m not getting anywhere with what or how to go about this career-wise. Also, I like to help people not just children. I feel conflicted. What should I do? Any advice, comments, feedback will help

Hi Natasha, thank you so much for sharing your story, i really appreciate you opening up in our comments. Actually my advice would be to try different things for some time, like 3 months, and see how you feel about them. Hobbies don't necessarily have to be your job, they can, but they don't have to be, so i guess the only way of finding out is to give different things a shot. I think you know a few things already; you like interacting with people, you like children, you like writing and many other things that i still don't know about you, so that's a good start. Also, a good start point would be to ask your friends and family what they think comes easy and natural to you, like talking to people or writing might be. They are close to you and might see things you don't, it's just a different perspective. The fact that you commented on this video makes me guess you want to start job shadowing, that's great! There is a video on how to network on instagram, there you can find a lot of cool tricks that can help you in any social media platform. But the most important thing is not to panic, let life flow and look for new exciting opportunities, open some doors for yourself, take action and stay true to your values, you will see that everything falls into piece even if it doesn't seem like it will. Not at all!! We all evolve and grow professionally, job shadowing can serve young ones that want to explore careers to make their first choice but it's also very helpful for everyone else that just needs to discover and explore new areas. It doesn't matter if you are redirecting your career path, changing it completely or choosing the first one, job shadowing will always serve you as an opportunity to find out if the next step is the right one or not.

Like the things you have never really understood as an outsider or the things that have could not come so easy for you, like speaking in public for example. Take job shadowing as an opportunity clear all the doubts you have about a job short and long term
