What is Jürgen Klopp’s Premier League legacy?
Спорт
Better to have loved and Klopped than never to have Klopped at all. On the weekend of his last game as Liverpool manager, Marcus, Luke and Andy assess Jurgen Klopp’s impact on the Premier League. Should he have won more titles? How does he compare to Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger?
Elsewhere, Luke makes an impassioned case for why he wouldn’t want Portsmouth to lose to stop Southampton winning the league and Marcus lists all the managers he wouldn’t want to have a drink with. Strap yourself in, because it's quite a list...

What people aren’t taking about are the tactical innovations Klopp brought to English Football. Along with his legacy of increasing the standards of the Premier League. With that, he should at least be considered as an Icon of the Premier League
The Portsmouth Southampton dilemma has happened in West Brom's 2005 great escape season. Surprised Luke didnt use that as a reference point.
This is not a discussion for people outside of Liverpool fc. People can judge Klopp / the club and compare to what other managers have achieved and have their own opinion but what he has done for the club is something that only fans can appreciate. He has changed the club, we've won everything and were on the doorstep of some feats that are not even conceivable for some clubs. We don't compare him to other managers in the league because to us he means so much more and belongs in the same club as our greats.

Ha ha Liverpool were the subject of most football fans in epl even those who don't support Liverpool. It might have been to mock them in the two off seasons Liverpool had under klopp in epl but they still lived in their heads rent free in that time to use that phrase everybody seems to use.
That Liverpool side would’ve rinsed Ferguson and Wenger teams
As Arteta is no doubt realising, you can be a phenomenal manager with a phenomenal team, but it’s still incredibly challenging to win a league ahead of City. The fact that one season Liverpool blew them out the water is an amazing achievement. And imagine getting 97 points and not winning it? You can’t do much more. If you move Pep and City (the 115 version, not the Shaun Goater version) in to the Fergie and Wenger era, those two would win far less. So comparing them all in their own chronological silos doesn’t really work.
"Maybe" he came along at the wrong time. Winning on 99 pts; 92 and 97 points and finished 2nd. Only manager in world football with a winning record vs Guardiola over 14 years in 2 leagues. Give your head a wobble on "he should've won more".

Yeah, the number of games won should mean something despite not winning the title. As us reds have celebrated more games won than other managers who won just 1 title.
Premiereship legacy is more than the trophy or Gerrard, Shearer, Matt Le Tiss etc can't be considered Premiership legends either.
When you compare the points, which AF, AW and JM got to win the PL, it’s a joke. Since 2018, there is just 1 year (2021) where you need less than 90 points to be the PL Champion. Context is so important. When you face Pep, combined with the oil money, it’s almost impossible to beat him. Put some respect on Juergen! Btw, in terms of value, look at numbers when Klopp came in & now…he raised Liverpool from a middle class team to top 2 in the PL. Direct battle between Klopp vs. Pep = 12:11 (30games played) just to keep that in mind.

I DON’T give a flying fuck what anyone outside Liverpool or social media thinks about Klopp in the eyes of Liverpool supporters he is a legend
😍😍😍😍😍
what a nonsense discussion
He will be on the Barca bench in one year.
This idea that “they kept pace with City throughout Klopp’s reign” is a bit of a myth. In nine years, they only finished in the top two three times. If we take the last five seasons including this one, they won the title in 2020, and since then finished third in 2021, second in 2022, fifth in 2023 and will now be third and despite keeping pace until April, ultimately a fair way off again. I also feel like far too many people who are arguing that he’s a PL legend, are conflating his impact/legacy on Liverpool with his impact on the PL/English football as a whole. Making Liverpool fans feel good, turning them round and winning a UCL are all great, but they don’t have any impact on the PL, which is what we are talking about.

Compare city and liverpool net spend , thank you
I think it gets overlooked how bad Liverpool were before Jurgen arrived. The squad and club were a mess. 4 European Cup Finals. 99, 97 and 92 point totals. 8 Trophies in 9 years using a sustainable and organic method.

I'm incredibly biased. But I would put Klopp over Pep in that list. Klopp started with a team that was 8th and low in confidence. Pep started with all time great city players, a team that had already won the league and about a billion more than Liverpool spent once the new owners arrived. It's not even close. Context matters for his loses as well. Goal line technology changing the season after he could have won a 100 point season AND Champions League win is incredibly sad. I think it says a lot that the vast majority of ex players when asked who they would rather play for pick Klopp. Fergie Wenger Klopp Pep Jose
Fergie Pep Wenger Mourinho Klopp
