No shade to Walmart though. The story that inspired this video: someone told me about trying to ollie on a walmart board while waiting for a bus while it was snowing. The truck of the board fully snapped, and they gave up on skating forever. Makes me wonder how many potentially great skaters gave up on skating because they didn't have the right equipment #shorts #skatebasics #skateboarding

My sis gave me her old skate, since she doesn't use it alot. I've started just wanting to use it as a way to get to my train station, but ended trying ollies and manuals 2 weeks later. I love failing over and over and finally getting one done. Also love the support you have around everywhere, It's so fun and you feel accepted somewhere.😂

I was playing on my dad’s old Xbox one finding something fun to play. Then I saw a game tucked in the corner of the game library, “skate 3” I booted up the game to see what it was about and instantaneously fell in love with skateboarding. I ran to my garage to find an old Walmart board almost broken. I found a skatepark nearby and started to just ride around to old wooden park. That park is where I learned to drop in, kick turn, and Ollie. Then it got remodeled into a huge concrete park which I still go to today. Thanks EA, and where my skate 4?

I got my first “Walmart board” when I was 7 but the board always got wheel bite and made me quit skating . Then 6 years later I got a 200 dollar overpriced custom board and it made me love skateboarding again😊

I never had a Walmart board experience. I got into skating abt 2 years ago bc it’s always something I wanted to do. I started when I was 18, and I’m 20 now. I made my complete set up from clearance items at the vans store at the mall and it was a really good board.

I got my first Walmart board when I was 7 and when I realised that it was hard I just left it in my garden for months and eventually it ended up growing mushrooms on the deck

Mine had plastic trucks that didn’t work. I spent months trying to figure out how to turn until I got a real board.

I was like.... 6, dad picked up Walmart board for my brother and i, took it to Montana, visiting family, older cousin was super into skating, had a half pipe in his backyard, super cool, he snapped my board on it, super salty, didn't get into skating till i was 18, lol

I got it in 2016. Forgot it existed till 2022 than skated it. Got anew one from a skateshop. And used the walmart board for hardware

I got a Walmart board when I was 12. The trucks were so ass that couldn’t turn. I rolled it off a curb once and one of the wheels broke off. I didn’t know anything about board quality and thought they were all the same, so I just assumed I was bad and gave up. I got a real one now tho. Learning to skate at 27.

I got mine when I was around 5 from my aunt in NYC around Christmas time. It was super late at night and there were hella people walking in the city and I tried riding anyway and rode into someone on the sidewalk…

Never gotten a Walmart board. Proud to say my first ever board was a cruiser from Landyachtz, then I got a complete at my local skate shop :)

When I was a kid, I was in little league. Every year, they hold a raffle and won a Pokémon Walmart board when I was like eight, it was sick. I tried so hard to learn from it, but it was so hard. My older brother skated and was the reason why I got into in the first place. He had an Enjoi board and immediately noticed the difference even when I was eight. But still couldn’t Ollie tho hahah

I'm old school. My first set up came from the little Asian Shop they had in front of my local grocery store. Plastic everything, you know. Single tail. Once I really learned to ride I bought a Veriflex board from K-Mart.. right when boards started having two tails. My first pro board was a Powell Peralta Frankie Hill Bull Dog Deck. Baby felt like a Cadillac!!

I was lucky to start off with a target board but when i attempted a ollie the wheels cracked then i fixed it two days later than i attempted the ollie then the board just snapped but the wheels still were together ☝️

My mom bought me a walmart board on Christmas's 2021. I tried getting more comfortable o it and took a huge break, than started skating with it again in august 2023 and the trucks were so bad the whole board turns by itself but I than got a YF YouFu board and now I can do better shuvs ollies but I still need more practice.

i was 7 when i found a bart simpson deck in town. my dad waited for me to sleep so he could destroy it so i won’t be hurt skating. years later in high school one of my friends was a skater so he taught me how to ride (11 years after the bart deck) sometimes i wonder what level i would have now if i started with bart

I got a penny board from Walmart my friend gave me there board and now I wanted to try skateboarding so I bought a element complete

My first board was a target board it was decent I got new spit fire wheels and about a year and a half after getting it the tail broke

Here’s mine So I still have my Walmart board but it all started back in 2022 or 2023 where I wanted a skateboard and my mom and aunt and grandma didn’t know that quality mattered neither did I and none of us knew how expensive skateboarding is so we went to Walmart and I got a skateboard I think it cost like 27$ but tbh I think it’s worth 27$ it’s good if u js want to start to get on skateboarding and js touch water with it (ps I’m saving up for a new good 1)

I just buyed a skateboard from Walmart for my cusion😂 but after that I realized that it was fun so i got one for me from a skatepark

My 1st was a Kryptonics from The Sports Authority in 2000 😅 It was cheap, thank God it was made by a sk8 brand. Lasted a whole year til I got a Blind from CCS

My first board was one I found on the street while walking to a friend's house. 😁 Good memories on that board, and then my Mom ran it over while parking in the driveway. 😅

I got my Wal-Mart board handed down from my brother who got it from his brother who got it for Christmas and when I got it it was still good nether really used it but how I broke it was a send off to it being my first board I went to the park pretended to get mad a broke it infant of everyone when I was done skating that day it was funny cause I got another wallmart board 😂

Mine was a veriflex from Sears in early 80's. Loved that thing. Got stolen. Have had many since, but do think of that old board often!

I got a Walmart board for Christmas once, and realized I can't afford a real board, and my parents didn't want to spend the money, so I gave up

I got my Walmart board I skated a few months ago and it’s still ok but a bit chipped on the nose and small chips on the tail but it’s all good 😁
