I would died of embarrassment if I had been forced into a child seat at the age of twelve. It might be the law but I don't have to agree with all the details.

The roads were probably much slower, safer and less busy back then though. You don't have to agree with them, but you do need to follow them. All we are doing in this video is giving facts and helping people understand about car seats.

Still don't understand!! I have ISOfix child seats but they don't have those bottom rails on them..

What do you mean by the bottom rails? The metal is not always as exposed as shown in the video and can sometimes be tucked into the fabrics. I hope that helps!

***** He means the rails which pull out from the iso base. I don't have either, mine just has the leg. I've been using a seat belt to secure the iso seat. oops!

Which base do you have? Please check the instructions that come with your base as it doesn't sound safe the way you're using it.

In UK isofix is rusty by law?

Very funny. The Isofix points are used, not rusty. If you use Isofix correctly, it will show signs of said usage.

Read this if you are considering isofix child seats. The metal on metal contacts rattle when empty, unless you install the seats so tightly against the seat cushion. It takes so much sweat and time, you won't want to remove it ever again. Isofix seats have a base for the mechanism. But if your child gets sick and vomits, it gets trapped in the base which is a nightmare to clean. Some parts are riveted and may never be fully dismantled. Finally, Isofix has not been proven to be safer than a properly installed seatbelt childseat.

Thanks for your comments. Isofix is not supposed to fit against the metal bars, this would cause damage to the car seat and the Isofix fittings. There is meant to be movement within the Isofix, it's not meant to be un-moveable. Your comments on cleaning the seat is confusing as all car seats are different. I've been in the industry for 10 years and have never experience the vomit issue you've described. Isofix is safer as it eliminates human error which occurs more often than not when parents fit car seats with the seatbelt. The new legislations mean that non Isofix car seats will soon be depleted in the UK.

That might be because you use the latch system over there, so it wouldn't have the same terminology. Possibly? Us British are a funny folk though!

@@Quentyn73 Americans think anything outside the US is peculiar. On the rare occasion they leave the US they non stop compare everything to the US. In Britain (the country who colonised the US), we have furniture older than your country. They Queen will have clothes older than your entire country. Let that absorbe.
