Also, thanks for telling us about the negatives, on which we are working on but due to the size of the country and population and porous nature of our borders, it is very slow going. I think the social issues will improve with economic improvement and education as you see in the south.

Dude. North Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar are extremely poor. Avoid those states. South Indian states are much more prosperous and civilised. Use this Human Development Index list of Indian states as a guide to assess the safety of the state- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_states_and_territories_by_Human_Development_Index

I agree with your review. I’m really sorry for the rough experience your wife went through. The sad reality is my country has a long way to go for ensuring women safety. We don’t let our own female family members out at night or isolated places alone. The south is a bit better but still far from perfect. There is a lack of quality education in our country to teach the men of our country the true values of being a real man.

Paharganj is worst place and most Chaotic. There are lots of migrants from other parts of India living there for employment and they are quite uneducated. You should have opted for New Delhi instead. Instead if you ask me, I would never advise anyone to visit Delhi unless you love chaos and wanna become mad😊. It better to enjoy peaceful vacations in South and North East India. Hope you enjoy fullest during your next trip☺️

Only 40% people of Assam are assamese rest are illegal immigrants. Also FYI there is a good amount of people thriving from Marwar,Punjab and Bengal in Assam and all blend in to stay bonded like brothers and sisters. In future try to earn some knowledge on ur own from 'books' and google rather picking up shitty info from 'somebody'. People from here move to mainland either as students or in search for jobs. Tell ur tea seller to put some effort in development in this side,to build companies here, to establish more than one IITs here and then talk shit. It is the right of every human being born in any country whats illegal is illegally crossing borders in flux and showing dominance and power over the place's own ppl and taking over their jobs when there is already stone raining unemployment. The only place in India with good amount of jobs and institutions is the mainland and people can and will come from all parts of India where there are not enough jobs. India doesnot revolve around you and your priviledged mindset. In some parts of India which are non existant for you farmers are dieing for there is no food and kheti, as ur tea seller spents millions and billions on some statue the youth has to study hard and move out to the main cities of the country. Bullshit.

Ok I'll break it down for you: Avoid: > North-Central part of India Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh (Varanasi), Bihar, Haryana Cautious: Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha & West Bengal Visit: REST OF INDIA > The True North (Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal, Punjab, Uttarakhand) > The 7 North-East Sister States (Meghalaya, Arunanchal, Sikkim etc) > The West (Mumbai-Goa, Rajasthan, Gujrat, Maharashtra) > The South States (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra, Telangana etc) > The island U.Ts (Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar) (Forgot to mention) The North-Central part of India- Delhi NCR (Gurugram, Noida) etc sees a great influx of people (mostly migrant workers) from neighbouring states of Uttar Pradesh (my state), Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha & West Bengal Now these states/regions are quite poor (& hence the youth migration) besides being one of the most backward & less educated regions in India. The people here have lesser exposure to 'progressive/developing India', let alone any global exposure and hence their out of place weird/creepy behaviour. Besides Delhi, other prominent cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai etc recieve these immigrants in equal measure. They are your typical frivolous roadside vendors, touts, tuk-tuk drivers, & blue-collar workers by large.

Thank you for this very honest review! I'm keen to travel to India w/ my BF, but I'm a bit leery because of the reports of sexual harassment on women - not only from you, but from other travellers as well. Will keep that in mind, and will be very careful in choosing the places we decide to visit. I'm watching your India & Sri Lanka vids during this quarantine period - not skipping ads. I don't know if you'll read this - but stay strong! Cheers & stay positive! Greets from 🇵🇭 💕

I'm sorry your time in India has ended. You did a great job of bringing your viewers along with you. There are a handful of really excellent KZread vlogs on India and this is now one of them. I do hope you return to catch some of the excellent locations that you missed the first time: Varanasi, Allahabad and Khajuraho are must-see locations. The Golden Temple in Amritsar along with the nearby border crossing into Pakistan are also interesting. Hardiwar and Jim Corbett National Park (wild tigers and elephants in legit jungle) are fascinating locations. Rishikesh too if Carol is feeling like doing more yoga. So much more to see!

Really impressed with your reviews regarding India. What you said about Safety of Women is true to some extend. We see a lot of incidents on a day to day basis, these days. We cannot blame poverty or lack of education for these behaviors. It is purely on how they have been brought up in their families. South India is far better in this aspect when compared to some Northern parts of India. I am from Kerala and am really proud to say that. Best wishes to your Channel and Keep your great work going !!

I disagree with your judgement regarding Kerala. Doesn't Kerala have the second or third-highest number of reported rapes annually among Indian states? Kerala is also one of the worst states in terms of women's safety and is in no position to be criticizing the North. We must all work together to resolve these issues everywhere across India.

I know it's not my place to say whether solo females should travel here or not, but I will definitely recommend that if you know someone indian then take their help, they will properly guide you for your journey here and you will have a pleasant experience.

This is a really honest, important video. I'm so happy that you two had a good time; I've only really seen two of your videos but you seem like an awesome couple and I really want to visit India someday. Thank you so much for letting us know the good bits and the bad bits; I hope sincerely that things improve in those areas. I will say that the, uh, "strategies" thing that you heard with a lot of the female travellers *isn't* unusual, even here in the west. Women deal with a lot of shit that most guys don't even notice (because it's not affecting them), and the guys that *do* notice tend to be the ones causing the issues in the first place. The behaviour you saw is obviously shocking and the situation is not as bad here in Scotland as it sounds in Old Delhi, but I know from friends that there are college campuses in the US and elsewhere where that behaviour wouldn't be super out of place. It's... weird to hear a guy learn that for the first time, but heartening to see you respond in a respectful way. Thank you for being so considerate about it. I'm relatively lucky in that I'm non-binary and can pass pretty easily either way (thank you half-hearted hormone treatment) so I think I'll definitely be in "guy mode" if I ever visit North India. I like me some greenery anyway.

I don't know that I'll ever visit India, but have been told by an Indian acquaintance, (from the South/East) to be prepared for all the stares. Didn't know it could be this bad! Glad you had beautiful experiences also. P.s. My acquaintance, although well educated academically, can sit alone all night at a table, and just stare. Odd! I must say though, that this does not apply only to Indian men.
