Ya sir I have gone through that but I was asked in interview that "What is the use of free Float in the project ? "

  • @pmclounge

The difference between early start of the successor activity and early finish of the predecessor activity is known as Free Float. It typically means if you finish early, you will have free time at hand for even the early start of your next activity. In real life projects, for example, if a resource working on an activity with free float wants to go on a leave, you as a Project Manager know that it will not impact the project schedule. You should thus approve the leave. You can check this video to understand how these values are used on real life projects to answer interview questions kzread.info/dash/bejne/moKDz9CRpaqZk6w.html

Does that mean D E and H all can be delayed by 4 days as a group or individually?

All together can’t exceed 4. Putting f=4 for each does imply 12 though.

Sir, which means B has already schedule for 6 days.. after calcuting with critical path now B becomes 6+3 = 9 days ..am I correct sir ??

Hi Siva, that is incorrect. At 8:55 in the video, it is mentioned that B can be delayed by 3 days and the project will still be on track. It doesn't mean B becomes 9, B remains 6. Hope that's clear 👍
