Very comprehensive and to the point introduction to this program. Thank you.
After days (weeks in total) of researching CRM & ERP options, solutions and capabilities, I've just found and watched a few of your videos and have got more out of them in a couple of hours of taking notes and initial planning for my business case, than anything other source of info. I love that you're straight to the point, informative but not info overload, and very concise. Thank you so much! I have a bit of catching up to do, but keep the great videos coming 👍👍

Hey Lisa, what a gem of a channel. Thank so you much! I was wondering if you had any tutorials about custom entities and how to relate them with existing activity entities. I am struggling with a use case where adding timeline to a custom entity only shows "Notes" while I need Emails,Tasks,Appointments etc just like we have for OOB entities like Leads and Contacts. I was thinking I would use a OOB entity in sandbox and import it into my production in a solutions but I am afraid it would merge with the existing OOB entity in production so I am super confused. Thanks for your help.
@LisaCrosbie

I haven't got a video specifically on that, but when you create the custom table, in the properties/advanced section, there is a checkbox to enable it for activities - if you check that, you will have the timeline and all the relationships with the OOTB activity tables.
Superb
For the last 10 years I called it Customer Records Management. Mind blown

This was a really helpful video! I only have one question if a company was looking forMicrosoft Dynamics 365 CE Software Engineer what would they be looking for? Would it be a person who knows how to use all of these applications or just a few? If so which ones should I learn? Thank You

Generally speaking the functional consultants and developers for Dynamics 365 are able to cover either (1) CRM - Sales, Service and sometimes also Marketing applications (although Marketing is its own specialty) or (2) ERP applications - finance, operations, supply chain. It is very rare for someone to be across both areas.

Hi Lisa, Thanks for the video, what is the difference between Customer Service app and Filed service app. Could you plz share your experience.Thanks
@LisaCrosbie
5 ай бұрын
Customer service is for Case Management, service tickets where you need to resolve customer enquiries, complaints, feedback etc, a call center type of secnario. Field Service is where you need to send skilled workers or tecnicians out into the field or to customer sites to complete work orders. They actually work seamlessly together, the customer database tables (account and contact) are the same, so you can go from a service request/ticket (customer service) and turn it into a work order (field service) if you have that use case. Or you can use either one alone.
Hi Lisa, just seeing what Dynamics can do..one question, is it capable for use in a Corporate Environment??

Absolutely yes, it's very widely used in mid size and large corporates
I’m looking for something that can be used within social work/direct service nonprofit case management. Is this something that would be suitable to manage clients and their assigned care workers or is this only useful for sales/business industry? We’ve used sales force but it’s not user friendly and complicated to use. This seems appealing because our organization uses Microsoft for everything.

Is b2b Commerce comes under Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations? Thanks
@LisaCrosbie

Yes the Commerce app (e-commerce for a website) sits under F&O. If you’re looking for selling B2B from a sales point of view - managing account relationships and pipeline, that’s Dynamics 365 Sales
Hi, How can a business avail Sales, Marketing and Service applications. Do they need to purchase licenses for each one of them or do they come bundled together as well?
@LisaCrosbie
8 ай бұрын
Yes, you need to purchase licenses for each use for Sales and Service (although if a user needs both, the second one is considerably cheaper as a 'bundle' price). Marketing is licensed per tenant based on the number of people you reach with your marketing.

I worked with ms dynamics for 2-3 months maybe, then had it on my cv but I keep getting contacted by recruiters and now I am curious, how long this will take me to learn most things? Is it still useful if I have no tech background?
@LisaCrosbie
Жыл бұрын
I don't have a tech background, I've learned everything I know on the job, consuming a lot of learning content, and getting hands on experience and practice. A career with Dynamics 365 (low code) is definitely achievable without a tech background. The more you do the more you learn and you have to be committed to continuous learning. It's very hard to put a time frame on it - you could learn enough to get a certification in a week, but the more hands on experience you have the more valuable your experience really is to an employer. Getting a job as an internal D365 person is a more likely starting point than in consulting (which usually needs greater depth and length of experience to apply your skills across multiple scenarios). Good luck.
Hi mam. Really appreciate your efforts. Can I ave this ppt and script.
How does licensing work in a group environment. 3 businesses have independent customer lists that are part of the same business group and want to share a central contact list. Does that mean they need to purchase 3 of whatever licenses
@LisaCrosbie
6 ай бұрын
If you’re looking at D365 Sales - every user needs a license. There are full licenses for people who use all the functionality and Team Member licenses for those who need read only basic access. You control the access to each independent list with security and permissions in the app, for who can read, edit, delete etc

I LOVEEEEEE Your Video. Due to this Video I will NOT continue with Hubspot. I was looking for an alternative, sine Hubspot is one of the moste expensive CRMs. I was about to buy a license for SalesForcewhen I came across your Video. Due to youe Video I will save a lot of money and time. Do you have any Videos on how to transfere Hubspot Data into Dynamics? Againg: Great Content!
@LisaCrosbie
Жыл бұрын
That's awesome, great to hear, thank you. I haven't done anything with moving data from hubspot yet, sorry. If it offers a way to export to Excel then importing from Excel into Dynamics is easy.
When onboarding customers I currently get them to complete a PDF application form and email it to me. Can I use Dynamics to build an online form and send a link to the customer for them to complete? Then have that information flow into the Dynamics system? Or would the online form be something I need to build outside of Dynamics?
@LisaCrosbie
Жыл бұрын
You can do this using Microsoft Forms (part of your Microsoft 365 suite of apps) - create the online form there, then use Power Automate so that each time a form submission is received, the data is added as a record into Dataverse (the database that sits underneath Dynamics 365). I've added it to my list to do a video on this.
