I am such a fan of #shungite. It's so mesmerizing. I started my website because honestly if I didn't jump in and bring some sanity to the rumors, because it has become a craze, Shungite would wind up becoming a joke. And it's no joke. I guess you don't know until you have one and experience what it's like holding one.
So while I become a connoisseur of this strange rock, I've discovered the deep mine pieces which are another level of Type 1. I spend so much time just marveling at my collection. There's scant knowledge of the deep-mine shungite (I learned about it from my associates in Karelia) - so I'm excited to show you what it is, and why it's different than Type 1.

Could you use deep mine shungite for water as well?
Are they the same durability or is the deep mine shungite more durable because it seems to have more solid faces?

@GaryfongInc is Shungite pretty light, more so than one would think, for a certain size rock? I have a rock that looks just like the deep-mined one. (I think I’d bought this rock at a gem show in the 1990s, but I cannot remember what it’s called.) Thanks! Great video! 🙏🏼 Just heard you say they are very light weight on the video! Would monolithic be another name for deep? I have a amazing deep shungite bought and maiked to me from Russia. 95 grams. Smooth nothing like the other type 1 elite. Glad I saw your video. Was listed as monolithic
How long do you need to leave it in water before drinking it ? Would one 15g stone be enough in my water ? Thanks Gary!

Type 2 Shungite (75% Fullerene purity) is mostly black. The only way to see if it is real is to test it.
