It's probably unlikely for this codex, simply because they said the Emperor's Children codex is really far out and wasn't not on the schedule they've shown us yet. Definitely by the end of edition, but more likely a next year codex with this one being a weird overhaul and outa left field codex. Still possible though!

8th edition 40k, indexes dropped at launch, I remember cos my FLGS did a launch day event where we all turned up with a bunch of models, got our boxes and books, then played a mini-tournament after some quick reading.

And now we have One Page Rules that are available at all times, for free no less, with a simple-to-use App. Also it's being balanced by the community so it's better balanced than most wargame-alternatives out there. I'ts not perfect yet but it's slowly getting there.

I don’t like people plugging One Page Rules into every wargaming discussion like it’s the second coming of Christ.

Thanks to printer leaks, we already know that the secret codex is Agent's of the Imperium (they're also supposedly getting three army sets based around each order) Emperor's Children is coming but either next year or it'll come in the same slot as World Eaters did in 9th edition.

On the topic of fake extra mech-suit arms: I think this is pretty well solved/explained with the new Commander Shadowsun model for the Tau. It is never explained but the model makes you assume that the extra set of arms just follows the movement of her normal arms which in that case makes a lot of sense... I guess with this one it works in a similar way

Brains are good at new control systems. (Re-mech arms) So, back in the day, I did some research projects involving bionic vision and limb replacement. The human brain is really receptive to picking up new ideas of 'doing this means that' or 'receiving this means that'. For example, you can try yourself; apparently, it takes about 20 mins to learn a new control scheme. Remap all your controls in a game, then see how long it takes you to stop needing to think about the controls.

They might be worried about crashing the site if they drop it all on one day.

Precision does not allow you to kill non Character Models

They really only have one important character, Tyberos, so if they did get attention again they’d be in codex space marines. It’d be cool if they did a story campaign where they brought him, Asterion Moloc, Lias Issodon and various other heroes of successor chapters to the tabletop.

@@tadhgmcelligott3693 I am aware, I’m just saying you can’t really make a whole divergent codex from just space sharks stuff. I could see them getting a primaris Tyberos, an upgrade frame and a transfer sheet, but that’s about it. The same goes for the Minotaurs but with Asterion Moloc.

Alpha legion or Emperors Children is what that codex is, is my guess. As they are not in the csm codex

I doubt that Alpha Legion would get a designated codex. Also it would be fun to have a hybrid detachment with Cultist/Guard/CSM (maybe even Admech) like the Lost & Damned back in the days. (3rd/4th edition?)

Hive SECONDUS. They definitely did not think of that when then named it. Since way back when, the two main hives on Necromunda were Primus and Secondus... Aka Primary, Secondary. They literally named them Hive 1 and Hive 2. If you've checked out the Darktide game at all, it takes place on a completely different planet called Atoma... in HIVE TERTIUM.. aka tertiary, aka Hive 3. A call back to their original hive naming scheme.

I bought into Armada because I made myself a Star-Wars RPG. The models are gorgeous and the proper Armada game really felt different with the shields and defense tokens separating it from X-wings tokens. I agree 100% it is super expensive.

There will come an upload, where Jay has a shit eating grin on his face. Before he says a word, and we will know he finally beat Sean.

Pasific Rim was great! Shame it didn't get a sequel!😉

A sequel would have been great. Especially if it kept the look & feel of the original and didn't become a Playstation cutscene. But they wouldn't do that would they, not in Hollywood. They have integrity there.

I think you missed Deathwatch's recent winrate. It's somewhere in the top 5. Their watchmasters and captains got an enormous buff.

Xenos have gotten a lot of love in the past few years, but they’re still a non-zero chance that the mystery codex could be Elder exodites!

FYI you cant use the vindicaire to target individual models in a squad such as special weapon operators. it only lets you choose to attack attached characters you can see

I miss the old rules from third edition. "Ignores all shooting restrictions". Infinite range, infinite shots, infinite targets, what's this line of sight you speak of?

Check out videos of the “body transfer illusion”. That’s how moving mechanical, non native, limbs could work. At least that’s how I’d explain it in sci-fi.

15:40 You're definitely thinking of Soontir Fel in the Tie Interceptor, I don't remember Howlrunner being *that* bad? I remember them being something of a darkhorse choice in my local meta, the real Imperial aces terror list was Soontir(he was pretty much a menace for most of 1st edition tbh) Vader once he was fixed, and the Inquisitor in their special tie. a *very* oppressive list at the time, might've been more around 2017-early 2018. was so bad that i built a skew list to counter it with I ship I'd only just bought and used once before taking it to a store championship and coming in 3rd.

and here we see why vermintide vs skaventide was a bad name choice for the box - people have vermintide in thier head and it will stay that way :D

You already can do an imperial agents (as your actual faction) list. GW explicitly said so in a WarCom article about a year ago and reinforced the statement in the previous dataslate.

An inquisition codex should have all the inquisiton units Grey Knights and a deathwatch unit.

@carysage You could easily make it a killteam. So then you could use any killteam the deathwatch currently have as an option. Going years back Deathwatch were just a single option.

I just wanted to say jay you are becoming one of my favorite KZreadrs. It’s gotten to the point where I’ll check the notifcations bell on KZread and if you don’t show up I just close the app and go eeeeh I’ll get to whatever else later. Your channel has given me more ideas than any other when it comes to basing how to look at models and keep them realistic but still give them that individual feel. Well there is something going on with agents of the imperium. On the website all the assassin models are gone along with a bunch of inquisitors.

The secret codex is Agents of the Imperium, split into three factions; Ordo Hereticus, Ordo Xenos and Ordo … can’t remember the name xD But yeah, more people should watch Chapter Master Valrak’s videos, this is old news

Does the Vindicare Assassin have a special version of the precision rule? Because unless he does precision only allows the player to target attached characters, no picking out special weapons or unit sgts.

That's pretty sad about X-Wing. I used to play with a group of fellow foreigners in Japan. I spent so much money getting everything I loved, never minding which models were stronger. I ended up getting rid of most of it, but kept the core set, a few ships from the original movie and of course Sabine's Tie Fighter because I'm a huge Rebels fan. :)

I am a huge fan of Space Wolves! But, in all fairness, I would gladly give the hand to Emperor's Children players. They deserve it.

The question is, what will codex will release along side this secret codex.

While AoS has no real interest on my mind, hoping that they get some more 40k/Killteam/Necromunda info coming out soon. I'm hoping to see a new Imperial Agents dex coming soon, and really would like some new Scions, Deathwatch (my custom chapter is not doing as well as it could due to the watch feeling a bit behind). *** SIDENOTE, they could always start making a return of old hammer "Hunters" style codices. Witch Hunters, DaemonHunters, and XenoHunters...Sisters + Inquisition, GreyKnights + Inquisiton, and Deathwatch + Inquistion. For Killteam I'd like GW to update out all the compendium teams that they really don't have something bespoke for yet. As for controlling humanoid mecha there are a few designs for controls that I quite enjoy....1) Armslaves from Full Metal Panic use a arm/leg control system where the pilot would move their limbs to control the machines limbs, but it is set so that moving you limb slightly would move the mechs arm greatly. 2) A.I. controlled units were the computer does what the pilot wants to accomplish. 3) A weirder one was one that I was playing around with involves the pilot linking into the machine, and when they do their own limbs are turned off, so the pilots need to be strapped down in their cockpits.

If I ever was going to paint armour like that I would go with tamiya or mr hobby clear green over alcad chrome

There's zero chance the redacted codex is Emperor's children. GW doesn't have the capacity to launch a brand new edition of AoS and also a new miniature range the scale that Emperor's Children would need to have in both variety and number.

I've always Vindi- car- at given Imperial Gothic's faux Latin vocabulary. Similarly Skitarii is pronounced Skitar-ee- aye and the singular is a Skitarius ( which was actually used in the original Adeptus Mechanicus codex when the army first came into 40K)

@5:16......jay what are you on about? My votann have a candy green paintjob. Take the shiniest silver you have and use it as basecoat. Then warpstone through an airbrush and bam mega shiny.....i startes using oil washes to dull it down a little.....no need for colour shift paints at all.

The heroes series one "Blind bags" (not blind if u bought a box cos you'd get em all) had a captain in full mk8. The deathwatch veterans kit are all in mk8 And as u said the tac squad has a mk8 chest but I believe there was another kit that has a mk8 chest, it might be devastators
