Back in the day, my friend Brian had both this one and the H1 500 CC. They were fitted with expansion chambers. My God they were loud.

I had a pair of SpecII's on my RZ350 when I bought it.. i knew they were crackling loud but I had no idea until a friend took it for a spin.. I was literally shocked by how loud the damn bike was. He was like a mile away at one point and I could easily hear it. After that I found some stockers and put them on.. it really was ridiculous.

Those Kawasaki fuel taps are NOTORIOUS for leaking!😝 The diaphragm on the fuel tap is actually supposed to be the shutoff. With the engine off, the plunger should be seated, and with it running, vacuum keeps it open to supply fuel to the normal and reserve ports. The best thing would probably be to find a similar fuel tap with a manual shutoff valve.😉

This above. - Usually, the 12 o'clock tap position is 'prime' and this will allow fuel to flow through without any vacuum. Make sure it's not on Prime when you take the tank off ! These taps were designed to stop fuel from flowing if the bike went over. (assuming the engine cuts out). They are on later 70's Z650's

I had a 72 H-2 back in the late 70's , mine was also loud , I installed a brand new clutch basket and the clutch was still loud . I believe it's the straight cut primary gears that make the growling noise.

On my Yamaha vacuum fuel tap, it kept leaking over and over, last time I pulled it apart I realized the body of the tap on the side where the diaphragm sits and the 'cap' (the cover with 4 small screws holding it on) were both warped. I 'flattened' them both on a flat steel surface using wet;n'dry sandpaper and hey presto, it dont leak anymore

I dont think thats a vacuum fuel pump on the petcock.. its just a valve that is opened under engine vacuum to allow the fuel to pass by. Its not actually pumping anything. At least the was how it worked on my RZ350.

Strange. That ‘KH750’ looks remarkably like an H2C to me.

PEI or PI..!? 3 O´Clock position on the fuel tap lets the fuel travel to the carbs unhindered normally.. needle valves inside the carbs, obviously has a hard time holding back a tank load of fuel.. leave it on the on position, that should basically stop your fuel flow unless the engine is running using the membrane

I've seen quite a few Kawasaki two strokes from this era with noisy clutch assemblies. Usually the end bearing. But do note even if fixed, sometimes you do get noisy ones anyway. I don't know what it is about their design.
