The royal family of Silla is buried in the tomb(not the Joseon! Silla is much much older). Silla is an ancient country that lasted for nearly a thousand years, from BC 57 to AC 935, and Gyeongju was the capital of Silla. I hope you had a great time in Gyeongju :D
Those mountains are not from Joseon Dynasty. Long ago before Joseon, Korean peninsula was seperated into 3 countries. Kyeongju was the capital of Silla which was one of them. So it has many ancient cultural properties until now. Silla existed for about a thousand years from 57 B.C. to 935 A.D. Those large tombs were made for the royal families of Silla.

@@ShevandDev Shinkansen (新幹線) is a Japanese word which stands for a new major railway line. The first Shinkansen, or the New Tokaido Line, started operation in 1964, connecting Tokyo and Osaka (Tokaido Line) in three hours. Before Shinkansen, it took more than six hours. It's funny that fifty years later, it's still called new. The reason is that Shinkansen runs on a newly built broad-gauge railway.
Kyongju (Gyeongju) is very beautiful during spring. Notice that the streets are lined with cherry trees, so during spring, cherry blossoms are everywhere...
Seriously, Korea's public transportation is a thing of beauty. Whether your trip is within Seoul or across the country, they really do make things as easy as possible (and affordable!). So glad you guys chose to go to Gyeongju too - enjoy all the beautiful history and delicious grub!

I did exactly the same journey (Seoul-Gyeongju) back in July (2022). Great train and nice to see you both on the same route. Gyeongju well worth a visit too - beautiful historical heritage site. You chose a better time to go - very hot and humid when I went. Have fun.🇰🇷😊👍

Kyungju is an ancient city. Can be boring for some tourists. You are supposed to visits ancient temples and museums.

The bullet trains do not always run to schedule as we found it last week between Seoul and Daejeon. We arrived 9 minutes late. There ya go! We didn't mind anyway as we're on holiday!!!!!

Have you guys been to Singapore? I am here for 1 week for the New Year before I go back to Thailand. I am appreciating the PAVEMENTS, sensible crossing options, cleanliness and metro. I miss the motorbike taxis. But the cost of things is insane. Even 7/11 isn't cheap. Beautiful city though.

kyeongju is shinla capital. 1000years ago shinla dynasty capital. 1000years ago is korea peninsula three nations. shinla, bekje,goguryeo three nations fight. shinla unified it.
At 0:17, there's a typo in the English subtitle. It's Gyeongju, not Guangzhou. Guangzhou is a city in China.

ah yes, I remember the excitement of my first high speed KTX ride lol you didn't need the speed app cos they show the speed on the screens above the aisle :) how long in advance did you book your tickets? I'm so glad for you that you made this stop in Gyeongju. it's such a beautiful place. it doesn't have the bustle of a big city, but it is actually a very famous and popular destination for Koreans and tourists alike because it holds so much culture and history :)
