What is Brexit in Urdu/Hindi
BREXIT is an important event in the history of the United Kingdom (UK). By Brexit, we mean the “British Exit” from the European Union. European Union is a union of 28 countries which include the UK. There is a Customs Union and Single Market in the European Union which are the legal methods to move within the union. On June 23, 2016, there held a referendum in the UK and almost 52% of respondents gave their verdict for Brexit. David Cameron resigned as Prime Minister and Theresa May became the leader of the conservative party. She negotiated a deal with Union with a Backstop plan. But her proposal was rejected twice in the UK parliament. A backstop plan is a major hurdle in the way of Brexit. Boris Johnson became Prime Minister after May’s resignation. He wanted to pull out the UK from European Union with or without a deal by 31 Oct 2019 which is the official date for the exit. If the UK exit from Custom Union of the European Union and remained part of Single Market then it is known as “Soft Brexit”. And if Britain exits from both Custom Union and Single Market then it is known as “Hard Brexit”. Hard Brexit is a “Brexit without any deal” which Boris wants. Article 50 of the EU is a legal way to exit from the EU and Theresa May triggered this article on March 29, 2017. But from now, Britain has extended the exit date twice and is looking from another extension. The backstop plan which includes the “Irish Border” is a major problem in the way of Brexit. If the UK leaves the EU without any deal which is a hard Brexit then to do trade with other countries the UK will join WTO. The problem comes here when the UK and Republic of Ireland signed a “Good Friday” agreement in 1998. In this agreement, they decided that there will no visible border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and there will be no check posts, no army. Know since the Republic of Ireland is not leaving the EU it becomes a problem for the UK. Backstop plan states that Northern Ireland will be a temporary part of the Single Market of EU and after a transition period and after some new deals Northern Ireland will also leave the single market and will join rest of the UK. This is not acceptable for many MPs who saw it as a threat to their integration. Other problems include citizen rights living in the EU and UK. In the case of Brexit British will pay 39 Billion euros as a divorce bill. The annual growth of the UK has also declined due to Brexit problems. The major reasons for exit include people’s wish of full Sovereignty, problems related to immigration, Identity, Nationalism, Economic opportunity, protection of Jobs. Those who want to stay maintained that Brexit would influence their trade, jobs will be lost, financial cost, citizen rights, and economic crisis. Boris Johnson is fully committed to leaving the EU by 31 Oct 2019 with or without a deal, let’s see what happens.
