In simple terms A GSI is like an computer os iso which is only one file that can be flashed on different devices having different hardware!

i have bad news smartphones launching with android 10 will never accept gsi rom. I tried everything impossible to mount the system partition. Dynamic partition bro . only .zip files can be flashed, .IMG files not possible.

GSI generic system image (GSI) is a system image with adjusted configurations for Android devices. It's considered a pure Android implementation with unmodified Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code that any Android device running Android 8.1 or higher can run successfully. GSIs are used for running VTS and CTS-on-GSI tests.

Yes that's what it's for but rom devs have made their own custom gsi so users can use them on their devices. Well we have own custom world here. 😅🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am trying to install GSI rom for mi 8 lite but it keeps popping fastboot mode. I just download the A file, flash it as IMG but it doesn't work. Can you explain this installation step by step? If necessary, get it for 2 hours.

2:23 But Pixel 1 doesn't have Project Treble since it launched in 2016 with Android Nougat.

first you have to install a rom that supports project treble on the pixel 1 , then you can install gsi port without any problem✌️

I really wish all Android phones worked like Windows computers. You can just use the latest version and get the original drivers even if it's old

install treble check (its on play store) then open it then it will tell you if its supported if yes you are lucky then you need to find out if its A or A/B and at last you need to find out your architecture this youtuber already made a tutorial its called "How to install GSI on any android device" or something like that check it out then you will probably understand it :D

Depends on the phone and the hardware. E.g. most LG phones can flash different country firmwares but the hardware is the same. Hlte and hltecan hardware is same so essentially same phone.

It should, depends on the GSI. A GSI allows you to flash a system image to any device with Treble support, allowing you to update it to newer versions or install a custom GSI when there is no custom ROM made for your device.

Just updated Pixel 2 XL to Android 11 and the speaker phone stopped working :(

Budget phones are terrible for that. I only recommend budget phones like pocofone which has good support otherwise better to buy older flagships like Pixel 2 or 3 at same prices as budget phones.

No unfortunately iPhones have locked bootloader and can cause a fire in your house and even in your pants. I do not recommend it.
