Why do I keep getting escrow adjustment letters. My taxes are the same my insurance is the same. So why isn't the escrow the same? But now I owe them? Scam?

The only reason your taxes would stay the same year after year is if you have some sort of homestead exemption or abatement. Is this the case? If not, im sure your taxes have gone up annually. Either that or there has been something paid out of your escrow (ie late taxes or unpaid insurance portion) that was not calculated during your escrow analysis. Ask your mortgage company to provide you a copy of the analysis and a transaction history to trace back what EXACTLY is going in and out of your escrow account.

I deal with escrow at work daily. If it’s not required depending on your loan; I’d recommend being disciplined in paying taxes and insurance if you choose to not be escrowed and be prepared for increasing taxes and insurance financially and you will good. Being escrowed means the servicer will pay the bills whether your escrow is short or not if you get a huge increase in taxes.They will spread the shortage out atleast 12 months to recover 👌🏽
