Hi Walidoss. That's a good question. Academic writing still contains opinions, which is why there is academic debate on any topic. Let's take a straightforward topic like climate change. Most people would agree that this is happening, but not everyone agrees, and even those who agree still disagree on the extent, the consequences, and the best way to tackle the problem. You could write a paper presenting renewable energy as the best way to tackle climate change, and that would be an opinion. But, the reader would still expect you to write objectively in terms of presenting arguments and evidence to support your opinion that renewable energy is the best solution. What other solutions are there, and why is this one better? How will it tackle the problem? What do other authors and experts say? Conclusions are often opinions, and may be 'hedged' to make them softer e.g. 'It would seem that solar energy is unlikely to be adopted on a wide scale unless the cost is drastically reduced.' Will solar energy be adopted on a wide scale? Well, it's possible, but the writer doesn't think so (and has presumably shown why, with objective evidence, earlier in the paragraph). Hope that helps.
