I bought a 160b (Murray) Detroit built car here in the UK last August, and I love it! It was used as a Wedding car by the 5 previous owners here. It started life as a Dark blue/Black Police car (but is fitted with an earlier 1929 engine) bodywork is now Cream and black, but still has it fully working Police siren on the dark blue firewall which surprises a few people! My car now has turn signals in the Cowl lights, and the rear lights with yellow lenses, which double as brake lights! They should be Red really here in the UK, but I have yet to be pulled over!

Chicle Drab and Copra Drab are really beautiful shades of brown. Somewhere along the line, paint formulas where polluted and these colors turned into shades of gray. Newer restorations are getting back to the correct colors. Slants, like this example, are really handsome cars.

A feature that they have is a adjustable front seat ( great for tall people) . I’ve added a 6 volt to 12 volt transformer that gives me a 12 volt power outlet. The car came to me with a 6 volt outlet also. ( really looked good with Christmas lights while driving around Brecksville Ohio).I love your shows they really “ deliver the goods” .Thanks

Third, have you already or would you consider doing similar sessions on other Model A body styles? Folks don't realize how many body styles were available with the Model A. One tiny correction: you mentioned that the Slant Window was introduced in mid 1931; actually they were introduced in February. This particular car is one of the early ones as it has the gas shutoff under the tank and not the indented firewall. @@ModelA Hey Paul, I think you are more on the spot on the mid-31 introduction date for the Slant Window. The Slant Windows came out for sale in May of 1931 and were only produced for about 7 months. It was the first all-steel structure fordor for Ford and it was produced with all interchangeable parts between Ford, Murray and Briggs. Wood was only used for the top and for mounting interior parts. If one's engine number is a Feb 1931 assembly date, per the RG&JS the vehicle assembly date could be as much as 4 months later making the May date for introduction for the Slant Window. The assembly date for a vehicle may be as long as three months after the date the engine was produced (four months in 1931).

@@madman-pv9qd Hahaha! Good reply! I couldn't wrap my mind around your saying that it looks like an old man's car. And I thought, how old is this guy? I read on and found out that you're only 70. I thought maybe you were my dad's age, early '90s. But being a tad older than me, I guess you meant "like an old mans car" compared to a '70-'72 Cuda or the like. The rumble seat video I recall was the Christmas Lights Drive and Tina was having fun being camerawoman from the rumble seat. I enjoyed watching she and Paul having fun. My grandmother was born in 1900. When I was a kid, I mentioned to her that I thought rumble seats were cool. And she told me that they were dangerous. Of course, I asked why? And she went on, that years ago, she had a friend that was riding in a rumble seat and died. Apparently, the driver had hit something ahead and my grandmother said that her friend "broke her chest" on the metal that's forward of where one sits. And that, no one else in the car was injured much. When I got older and came across photos of rumble seats, I saw how someone could die from a forward collision. So rumble seats got ruined for me for all time. And when I saw Model T-ina riding in it, fun as it was, I was concerned. Jeez, I didn't mean to be a party pooper, I started out all happy. I love the car in the video. That owner seems to have brought that car to perfection. And yes, I agree with you that the colors are to love. My favorite "A" has been the Tudor but after listening to Paul on this car and seeing it, I'm rethinking the Tudor. Wishing you a happy prosperous new year, Mad Man.

Question. I've heard of issues having the 4 door because of the wood. Meaning the wood can warp and cause issues and noises. Is it then better than I was told to have a 4 door. Meaning if garage kept should have no issues. Plus with myself having a spare tire (beer belly) heard the tudor you can flip the seat hinges and give you more space. Lastly paul as a funny joke I was hoping you would pop the windshield out and say and now it's a slant window.

Hi Paul, I just watched your latest video re the 160A/B Slant Winshield Town Sedan. I have one that is in the same colour scheme and would appreciate if you may be able to adise the colours of the car in the video, as I have just purchased mine and wish to establish the correct colours. As always, thanks for your assistance. My car doesn't have the sun visors mounted to the roof, so will now start looking for a pair. Kind Regards Bill

Buckminster Fuller claimed that a Model A Ford is more aerodynamic running backwards than forwards. He then built a huge teardrop-shaped car powered by a Ford engine in the rear but powering the front wheels. The single rear wheel steered via steel cables. This unsound rear steering design was treacherous as a little too much steering lock would skew the car sideways as it attempted to turn 180 degrees in its own length. Three were built before Fuller went on to other radical futuristic projects. Look up Dymaxion Automobile for more.

I hear that a lot. Some carbs just don't atomize the fuel as efficiently as others. Clean out the passages and the jets and it just gently hisses after that, and fuel economy goes up too.

A few days before he passed, he watched some of my videos and sent me an email that simply said "You are the boomerest car channel on KZread". That is the very last thing he ever said to me. I loved him so much. So, it's just an inside joke between me and my dear friend of so many years, whom I spent so much time with, and so many great memories. I hope you can tolerate it.

Another difference between the 160A and B are the interior door handles. The 160A had unique handles not the same as the 160B. It took me over 30 years to find my handles.
