What is a MEG brain scan?

In England, around 340 children each year could benefit from epilepsy brain surgery. However, in recent years, only around 110 children each year have had surgery on their brain to try to treat their epilepsy. Epilepsy brain surgery is done to help stop a child's seizures, or reduce the number of seizures they have.

Dear Pat, thank you for watching the video. The zip of the specific pants/trousers I was wearing was made of plastic. For patients and healthy participants we have surgical gowns/trousers and shirt and are all required to fill a questionnaire to prevent ferromagnetic objects being introduced in the room. We check items of clothing for ferromagnetic material if participants are not happy to get changed That said, we have performed studies on patients with Vagus Nerve Stimulators implanted with specific caveats....

@@stefanoseri5354 yeah the old MRI scanners are rather tricky isn't it. Better off just getting a sharp kitchen knife and get stuck into the patients and see what's under the bonnet.
