What is a Deutsch Connector? Will it Help?
This week I replaced my old and bad steering column wiring job with a Deutsch connector from the team at @WireCare

First, you admitted your mistake, then did it properly. Great job! Continue to learn, and have fun. Great memories with your dad.
What an excellent job! There are lots of car stereo installers that could learn a lot about Deutsch connectors and your installation techniques. Connector QUALITY is something largely ignored. You folks illustrate that one cannot skimp on connectors. Mahalo for a great video!

Thank you and mahalo!!
Great video Ellie! I love watching your videos and seeing the progress that has been made on Carl since you first started working on him. Me being 19 watching your videos, it is refreshing to see people in our age group working on these great classics and having a passion for these vehicles! Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me want to get out into my garage and work on my old Ranchero. I’m definitely gonna start using the Deutschmark connectors in my project. Keep up the great work Ellie!
I am going to send this video to my little sister so she can try doing the wiring on her 1973 Chevy pickup (under my supervision, as always). Well explained and fun video.

Thanks so much! I hope it's helpful!! Good luck on your project!!
A tip when using those wire strippers: If you are careful to not squeeze all the way, let the strippers return (and open) before they pull the insulation off the end. Then pull the insulation off with your fingers. If you let the strippers pull the insulation off then the blade of the strippers will often come back against the stripped end of the wire and make a mess of the strands. This process of messing up the strands is called "bird-caging".
I learned something new today, appreciate the tip and illustrating it so we know how to do it 🙂

Thanks! I hope it's helpful!!
Great video, I've made the same mistake in the past and I work electronics for a living. Don't feel bad about that. Little technical info, a "short" is when power goes where you don't want it (i.e. ground). It'll blow a fuse. An "open" is when your voltage doesn't make it where you want it to go. (i.e. your light doesn't light up when you press the brake pedal). Not super important for what you're doing, just a little bit of electronics terminology to add to your knowledge bank. The important part is that you know how to troubleshoot the electrical systems in your car. Props to you guys for finding it and fixing it before things got worse.

Sorry we've been gone for a few weeks! Graduation and life craziness took over for a bit.
Conspiracy theory warning. You did the connection backwards the first time so you could show how to depin and repin. Either way. Great vid and inspiring me to work on the F100 some more.

I know, right? If only. I'm really not sure how I flipped things around the first time, but we were saying after that it was really good that we messed up because showing how easy they depin was good. We realized we should have thought of that before. 😂
I guess that’s what happens when you’re a rookie, you make rookie mistakes. But you fixed that issue. I’ll admit it, even I still have a lot to learn about wiring.
Thay way is long to learn but you do it very great now a very nice Work Love it ❤️🌹
Awesome...... Great job 👏👏👍 amezing
Those are some nice connectors

😂😂 I know, right? In our defense, at least it was pink electrical tape 😂😂

What a great quote and SO true! I need to put that on a shirt!
BTW I love your videos but word to the wise put a fuse on the horn wire you could burn your whole house down, ask me how I know. I don't know why Ford never did.

Thank you but YIKES! That sounds like good advice. We did rewire the car with a full Painless kit with a fuse panel. Do you think we're safe with that? Thanks for looking out for us!
