So does this mean that (i)^2 is -1 since i means the square root of -1? I might misinterpret this but as I see it (i)^2 = SquareRoot[-1]^2 = -1?

A follow up, for this question would suggest that 7i^2 would mean 7*-1 which equals to -7? Thank you in advance for your answer and for this brilliant video. Best regards!
This video made my calculator catch on fire because I put square root of -4
The number ''i'' i really a crutch in mathematics and it should not exist nor have any usage. Because when a lot of mathematicans come up with some answers to their mathematical expressions which are garbage, they suddenly incorporate the ''i'' in their answers and all is well and dandy after that. This crutch should be abolished.
