Good Luck!

I have my appointment in 6 days discussing my cochlear implant option for my worst ear. So nervous. It’s not the thought of getting the implant, it’s the surgery xxx

Good luck with your appointment. I was super nervous about getting my implant, but I'm so happy I did, it's definitely a huge improvement for me.

It's a bit scary and amazing at the same time how a machine helps the human brain hearing, the wonders of science

Yes, they're not even that new either. They've been around since the 80s.

I have idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss in one ear, my ENT doctor said that ear nerves are not working. Does cochlear implant work for dead nerves?

Unfortunately, you'll have to speak to an audiologist about this one. I'm not an expert on the specific candidacy criteria for cochlear implantation. If a cochlear implant isn't suitable for you, there are other options for people with single sided deafness like CROS hearing aids and bone conduction hearing aids which might work for you.
