I'm glad you liked it. Here in my country there are several species of armadillo, and the most similar to the one in North America has 7 bands, they belong to the genus Dasypus and there is one where I live

Es un animal extraño, aunque aquí ya estamos acostumbrado a verlo. de todos modos es interesante observarlo de cerca, hay que tener suerte o estar en un lugar visitado como península Valdés, allí los turistas les dan de comer o comen migajas que caen. Asombra a los extranjeros que visitan el lugar

Thanks for watching and commenting, it's always appreciated. Here we have several species of armadillos, one is similar to the one in North America, but it is not this one. Seeing them run like this altered is very unusual, I think it was the mating season. It is more common to see them in the distance or dead on some road

Muchas gracias Silvia. Vi unas crías en cautiverio en 1984, los habían capturado con la madre en un tambor de 200 litros. Eran rosaditos, sin pelos ni durezas. La madre se los comió al día siguiente. De seguro no salen hasta que estén desarrollados.

Técnicamente es una especie introducida en la Patagonia al sur del Río Chubut y en Chile. Utilizó los coronamientos de represas y los puentes construidos por el hombre para invadir esas áreas donde naturalmente no habitaba, afectando por competencia al piche patagónico y a numerosas especies de lagartijas endémicas y aves que nidifican en el suelo, como los cauquenes.

@@ukumar67 no sé los nombres científicos, en uruguay hay mulita, tatú, tatú peludo y tatú carreta! Este que describen en el video comparte las mismas características físicas y de comportamiento!

@@nelsonmandelaaguardar2270 son similares, pero este, Chaetophractus villosus, no transpone el Río Paraná-Río de la Plata. El que está en Uruguay es de otro género, Euphractus sexcinctus, aunque tiene un comportamiento similar y explotan el mismo nicho ecológico. En el norte argentino ambas especies conviven.
