I experimented with my 89 Foxbody on a few things. I ended up experimenting with factory MAFs and eventually ran a Crown Vic MAF housing with my factory sensor.

It seems to me on these cars that as long as the pcm capasitors are good and no vacuum leaks, it's almost always the MAF or Distributor. Whenever you get the low idle/high idle chase, that is the computer trying to fix the fuel trim going lean to rich. The factory style O2 sensors on the foxbody are too slow to process this information by today's standard. Therefore, almost always a MAF calibration issue.

Doesn't C&L use sample tubes for diff injector sizes? If you haven't already, check for any loose/weak/missing ground(s).

Aren't all those aftermarket "calibrated" for bigger injectors and larger diameter housing based on using the stock meter sensor? They do this by tricking the computer based on the sample tube etc.

How do you fix that whistle on the BBK throttle body? Have the same sound on my fox.

Please fully restore that vert to its original color, I love that color combo!

My 91 was converted from AOD to a T5 at some point. Well before I got the car. It still has its A9P in it and I’ve had no issues in the almost 6 years I’ve had the car.
