What if you were me?

Experiment designed empower people to think about others from another persons perspective. The question we asked was "What if you were me?". We donated all of the money raised to people living on the streets.

I wonder, did anyone try talking to the person behind the mirror? Most humans do have empathy. Sadly it is sometimes erased due to our own pain and hurts, yet it is the one ingredient that lifts us out of our own pain. A beautiful experiment. Thank you for sharing!

Yes humans have empathy but there's some countries where there's TONS of homeless people so we can't simply help everyone 😢 So we tend to ignore lots of them. If we help everyone we would be poor by now too.

I worked on St George’s terrace for many years, I always stopped to help people, sometimes to the horror of my colleagues. In winter, I would go to Anex 100 Woolies and buy a roast chicken and coke for a homeless guy that sleeps in a doorway on the ground with a sleeping bag, near the bus shelter and another guy across the street near dome. People are terrified of him because he has Tourette’s but he’s a really sweet person when you talk to him. Everyday for months, I’d sneak food to a guy that slept near Elizabeth quay train station. I’d take something non perishable from my home for him. He never saw me, I was like a ninja 🤣🙌 I’d quietly drop the food off at his head and leave quietly. He almost caught me once, I think he was waiting to see who it was and popped his head up - almost got me. I haven’t seen them for months now that I lost my job for not complying and I hope they are okay. Anyway, new sub, thanks for sharing the love and kindness 😁♥️✌🏻🥳

If I were you? Then you are my bravery. I’ve felt like different experiences and strata’s of society in the polarities of of today’s society where we dwell. So my person Through The Looking Glass I bring an equal mirror facing you and now you knew we’re both infinite and eternal grace. As of all echoes that are so deafening in the silence of those who pass by love.

As i see where the life as of now is leading us... its to the end of empathy. We are losing that, that once was our strongest force for survival and as such as we will pay a big price for it for only thinking in ourselves.

The Mayan people had a greeting "In Lak’ech" which means "I am another yourself" We have empathy it's just very selective, and most people are moral relativists, afraid to look themselves in the mirror and do shadow work... What if we were animals in slaughter houses, zoos, vivisection labs, dairy industry, pet industry, fashion industry,aquariums... He must be wealthy to afford a mirror like that. But seriously - I do think it's easy to end up homeless and on the streets. The contrast of the poor and the billionaires in New York City does pull on the heart strings. Increased taxes and inheritance taxes are inevitable.

Fishing licenses aren't free! Fines are worse! Once you have no address you can't get a job! People need to wakeup to the realities thats is not all drugs and laziness. People fall on hard times and there's more coming. The rich are getting richer. Heartless people and good people will be at war!

I used to work at a gas station less that a block from a homeless shelter. I will never feel sorry for another homeless person again. Every one of them is on the streets because they want to be there. There are so many resources to help them and they refuse or want the money but don't want to do anything for themselves. These videos make me laugh because Joe average is sitting at home thinking how sad when they don't even know the situation. There are two kinds of homeless people, the druggies and the ones working to get off the streets. The ones working to get off the streets are usually working a job that doesn't pay enough to cover the bills. Those are the ones you should feel sorry for. Those are usually the ones that you never see. When you give money to dirty gross people on the streets you are enabling druggies..
