The reason why there was an issue regarding the China Sea and the Philippine sea (I'm from Philippines) is because of our territory, Chinese vessels literally went over the line, the first thing they did is to threaten the Filipino sea men for 'being in their territory' when in fact they are in our territory, (as far as I know it's already resolved)

9:40 to 9:52 is super true. We may not fit in the geography because we're look far far far away, but we are everywhere. You can see Philippine people everywhere in the world.

I kinda know why India is 1st on reading hours.. as some of the largest entrance exams such as UPSC, NEET, JEE, CAT.. etc are held each year for getting into an ug college.. alone NEET have like 1.7M+ participants each year.. i don't know tye number about UPSC but ig it's higher than this too.. so we spent a lot of time reading newspapers, articles and books related to history, geography, science, social studies, law, general knowledge etc.. cause it's in the syllabus.

US - Mexico relationship is similar to China - Vietnam relationship. Lots of people-to-people and economic ties but historical wounds and border tensions allow a lot of hate to fester underneath the surface. In the US, it's political. Republicans are considerably more hostile to Mexico than Democrats. In China, obviously that's not a factor since it's a one party state.

Hey The US gave nuclear capable missiles to Turkey a year before the USSR gave Cuba any nuclear missiles. One of the reasons for giving Cuba missiles was a response for having nuclear capable missiles in Turkey given by the US to the Turkish government

I think the creator accidentally messed up the order. If I recall correctly we placed nukes near the USSR first and they then countered by giving Cuba nukes.

Of course Mexico would be sad for the Philippines, we have important mexicans with filipino background, like Mario Lopez. But, and I say this with all due respect, the Philippines can be weird: they mix english with spanish AND tagalog. That's crazy.

During the troubles the ira and 1916 rebellion also had political ties in Boston to varying degrees. Ever since the Civil War irish Americans had gained more power, it had made an interesting situation for its relationship with ireland, making it seen to have more power than other immigrant cultures in the US vs colonizing cultures such as britian or Spain. This helped also make a path for more immigrants, we were once the ones people tried to turn away but yet had no where else to go minus a prision ship to Australia or death. As a result this has lead irish and irish American culture to be very big in arguing for the less fortunate.
