This game is so criminally underrated, I always come back to it just to do a casual run. It’s such a gem and has honestly aged like fine wine.

You have no idea how happy I am to see Castle crashers videos come out, especially this year. I love this game and it was the first game I ever beat that kicked off me playing games as a whole on the XBOX. I was at least 5 or 4 When I beat the game.

Dude, we'd love if castle crashers got in smash! it is literally our biggest inspiration as an Indie Game Team lmao

This is the first video I've watched of yours, and I got to say that I quite enjoyed it. I recently got into Castle Crashers not too long, so it was a pleasant surprise seeing someone theorize a moveset, stage etc. for them. Like 90% of the Smash community I like to do the same, so I always enjoy seeing these types of videos. As for the moveset here itself, I think it was a unique direction to take them. While there being no elemental damage (poison, fire, etc.) was initially pretty disappointing, I think that this was ultimately the best way to go about it so that it could fit all of the different characters and costumes. And the Animals as a gimmick does work well, although I'd have considered the possibility of some of the offensive ones fitting in there. That said, not that I could complain too much, they work well for what they are, provide them an interesting gimmick (albeit similar to Shulk's, not that that's a bad thing) and the rest of the moveset is completely fitting. While seeing how characters adapt to being in Smash is interesting, I'm a sucker for the ones that seem to play almost like they were directly taken from their game (like Mega Man) and this both fits that and adapts them just enough to work in this new environment. I'd say you've done a good job here, and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Im so glad how well you've represented this idea, absolutely brilliant. My only change would be to make back air the shovel doing a standard swing in the air because of how funny it is that it actually does damage in the base game.

My only suggestion would be to change the Beholder to a different Animal Orb such as the Cardinal for magic. Wizards of the Coast may have been okay with allowing a reference to their Beholder 15 years ago, but may not be too keen to share these days. Personally, I find the Cardinal orb to be a bit more iconic to my experiences with Castle Crashers. Excellent video, well done!

This is my version of the castle crashers I hope you like it (and yes it is pasted because I’m not typing this) The crashers would be heavy and have 2 jumps the gimmick, they would have a blue bar next to there icon for there mana, they'll need mana to use specific moves, btw I ordinally wanted them to be like Pokémon trainer but then I decided that they would be like perhanna plant or Mr. Game an watch as in there a mix of all the knights basic moves, for the jab he could do a 2 hit swing with his sword and then use reds lightning to rapid jab before finishing them with a sword swing the lightning uses about the full bar in about 3 seconds, the forward tilt could be a simple sword swing, for the up tilt it could be a swinging sword strike that sends enemy's upwards. for the down tilt it could be a simple low sword hit, for the side smash he would use oranges fire blast to launch and burn foes it would use up about a quarter of the mana bar, for the down smash he would use greys arrow rain to attack both side of him with weak multi hitting attacks it would also muse up about a quarter of the bar, for the up smash it would be a fire blast upwards just like the side smash it would also use about a quarter of the mana bar, for the neutral air he would drop a bomb that would blow up in front of him causing an explosions where he is being a strong launching move, for the forward air he would swing forward and if he hits an enemy he wouldn't fall down he would say in the air to do it again, for the back throw it would be like peranna plants a strong fire blast, for his up air he would do an uppercut with his sword, for the down air he would use blues icicles and drop one down right under him its a lot like mega mans but faster it would use about a fifth of the bar the grabs ,because he's quite small his grab wouldn't be amazing but he would grab with 1 hand and pummel with the hilt of his sword, for the forward throw the ram pet would come in and ram the enemy forwards, he would drop a bomb underneath the foe for the up air making them fly high in the air, for the back throw he would drop a bomb launching them backwards, and for the down throw he would rain arrows on the enemy dealing lots of damage this would use about a third of the mana bar the speical attacks, for the neutral speical he would use greens poison cloud in front of him or would close Cost about a third of the mana badge Bar, for the forward speical he would use reds lighting as a long range multi hitting attack the longer the button is held the longer the lightning would last it would take about 2 seconds for it to use up the entire mana bar, for the down speical he would drop a bomb that would bounce a few times and than explode it would explode when a foe touches it,when used in the air the bomb will just drop than explode when touching the stage or an enemy, for the up speical he would use the super jump the kind of element it is changes depending on what alt your using it would use a third of the mana bar and put you into free fall the final smash, the knights sword would grow and he would swing it forward anyone who gets hit will be pulled into a cimamatic and feel the wrath of all 4 knights including the 2 dlc knights the cinematic would end with the foes caught in it being launched away other stuff, the intro animation would be the knight running in on the kings hoarse, all the knights alts would be other characters the first 7 would be the red, blue, orange, green, grey, pink, and purple knights the final alt would be of the main villain of the game the wizard, note that when you change alts the sword the knight is using would change to that knights starter sword and the up speical would turn into that knights super jump for the wizard the sword would be the dragon sword and the up speical would be the uppercut move he uses in his boss fight wow that took a while, tell me what you think and if you have any better ideas sorry it was so long

Now I need to see a mod of smash that adds all this up

This is why I love this channel! Actually good game design and animation, for characters i care about when no one else does. Another route you could have gone is a stance changer, similar to Pokemon Trainer? That way it could do elemental effects. Even if its between 2 characters, because fire and poison shoot projectiles while electric and ice are more multiple enemy infront direct hits.

That down Aerial is the slam down and the down specials could have been the heavy element attack in 2 direction, plus the down smash could have been a ground cyclone

I was hoping they would make a second castle crashers but this is amazing I will buy Smash if these characters get implemented into the game. This was an excellent idea it is something you would never think about but when you did it was like gold, a stroke of genius and the moveset is just amazing it works well and ties in with the original game. What a wonderful job dude keep it up!

Castle Crasher could work as a Newgrounds representation if he had more other newgrounds character moves. But i would love them even as a mii costume, they even have a big head and a small body like Mii characters, they would look pretty much like Cuphead and Sans with entire finished model as a costume.

hearing someone speak about castle crashers brings joy to me for someone who enjoys this game still

That down air just fuels my juggling addiction. Also I think the final smash could be throwing all hit players into the raging Barbarian War

not having simple sight in the ost hurts my soul

This video is incredible. I really want a Castle Crasher character in smash but there is another platform fighting game that I don't really see a lot of people talking about and that is Newgrounds Rumble. If you don't know what it is then it's a platform fighting game published in 2007 with 10 playable characters and 2-3 more in updates. And the game is incredible. The amount of fanservice and care in the game is insane and even tho 10 might not sound like a lot, it had some of the most iconic Newgrounds characters and some great weird picks. You got your iconic and obvious picks like Tankmen and Pico. You got the fan favorites like Salad Fingers and Alien Hominid. And You got your obscure picks like Alloy and Samurai A. And with the updated characters they added Hank from Madness Combat and Fancy Pants because they were both considered to be in the base game but didn't have time to create the sprites. I wish there was a Newgrounds Rumble 2, Newgrounds is getting popular again thanks to Friday Night Funkin and the artist who created Newgrounds Rumble is interested to create a sequel but he is going to need a programmer. Castle Crasher's character feels like the perfect character to add in the game. Heck, I'm not even stopping there. Add Boyfriend, Bitey, Larry, Dad from Dad N Me, Geo and Ami from Gwain Saga, Darnell, Meatboy, Issac, and yes, Knight from Hollow Knight because the Knight actually originated from Newgrounds so it makes perfect sense to add the Knight in the game. What about trophies, bosses, costumes, more music, victory screens, taunts, online battle, and so much more you can add in the sequel. Sorry if I was talking too much about this game, I just wish more people would talk about Newgrounds Rumble. I know we are getting Fraymakers but Newgrounds Rumble will truly be the first indie fighting game.

Hell yes, I'm only a year older than you but I remember playing Castle Crashers in my xbox when I was younger and I bought it again as soon as it came out on Switch. It's so fun, I've already finished the main campaign with like, 10 characters already!

I feel the same exact way! They would be amazing! I don’t think they are going to get in but if they did it would be amazing and blow everyone away! Even a Mii costume with all the different colors would be amazing! This is one of the best smash bros ideas I have ever seen! You even talked about classic mode and spirits! Please continue to make these with other characters you want! You earned my sub! Time to check out your other videos.
