Dennis Rodman is one of the greatest rebounders of all time and what is so amazing is that he was 6' 7" which is an inch shorter than Pippen. Since he was so short for a "big man", he had to actually develop skills for rebounding. Rodman is probably the best rebounder in terms of technical skill. He literally watched film of his teammates to know like if Jordan shoots from the left elbow moving to his left and he misses the ball will go to "x" spot. If he was 7 feet tall I think he'd actually be a worse rebounder. He probably wouldn't learn any of those skills because he wouldn't have to.

@@mence5992 that’s true, but what I was thinking of is what if he had his quickness and speed at 7’0, imo he would be way better defensively(longer reach, more blocks, if he matched against pgs they wouldn’t be able to get around him) and offensively ig it wouldn’t change much except getting dunks on people instead of just layups in traffic, and his 3 game would probably stay the same

I disagree with the thought that just giving Steph 6 inches all of a sudden won’t make him a better player. This is because he would be able to get his shot off more often, be able to play better defense, being able to grab more boards, be able to drive in the lane with a better chance of getting the lay up, etc. This would give Steph even more of an advantage and allow him to be an even better player.

HeathTN his point is that curry wouldn't have learned his skill set if he was taller. and if u just added height later on curry wouldn't get the same opportunities because they'd want him to grab rebounds and play in the paint. and i'd hardly call his height a defensive liability. shorter players are actually better at perimeter defense because they are more level to the ball. it's just interior defense that's the problem but why is it so important for your point guard to have good defense in the paint? currys a liability on defense because he's just not good at it. cp3 is a great short defender

That’s true, but then again I think he would still be playing point guard. Look at Ben Simmons he doesn’t shoot and can only shoot close to the hoop but he still is a true point guard he knows how to score, run the offense, and set teammates up. And Curry by any means is not a great defender so I think it would be smarter to guard Kyrie because a better defender like draymond or Klay could D-Up Lebron.

I agree in principle but I think the fun comes (and the topic gains interest) when you remove their history and just add the height to their already existing skill-sets. What happens if the exact same player (Iverson for example) is suddenly 6’5”! Same crossover, same shot and same disposition. I think that’s a fun conversation and you’d have some pretty good debates.

And no matter how jimmy doesnt give a fuck about this. Curry was even smaller as a 16 year old. And even if he would be taller now. He would have still been smaller as a 16 year old and prolly knew as a 12 year old that he shoots better then others anyway. He dows it so gold cause he does it all the time.
