Well, this is an alternative ending. He may have plot armor usually, but that doesn't account to this. This is Mia's game (in a way). If anything, she's the one with the plot armor in this. Mia is the protagonist of this series, and Phoenix is not. Hope that clarifies things!

Now the question is: why did Phoenix got killed? We know that Redd White killed Mia in order to prevent that one list becoming public. Did he wanted to steal the list while Mia was away, and killed Phoenix to leave no witnesses? Was that kind of the situation in the original game or did he thought that it would be too dangerous to leave Maya alive? Edit: oh wait, it's reveal in part 2

It could be that Redd White had learnt about Phoenix through the wiretap, so having Phoenix being killed would make sense, and would cast suspicion on Mia and Maya, sadly, it was Maya who got caught there, and the timing was just off, as Mia had run a bit late to the office

@@Indonknow you forgot Morgan Fey she partly caused Bridge of a Turnabout to happen, and although if there was one then Mia would have to face a very infamous case if you know the Gavin brothers and the Granmaye you know what I'm talking about.

@@Miranha-SupremoV17 I meant that Bridge to the Turnabout would change drastically. Instead of Misty, Maya would be the victim, because the only reason Maya survived at all was Godot. Pearl would be the culprit, because if Misty wasn’t present, Pearl would’ve channeled Dahlia, Dahlia would’ve killed Maya, and using the logic from Reunion and Turnabout, Pearl would’ve been convicted of the murder. And then Mia would be obligated to go back to Kurain Village and lead it as the Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique, considering there’s no one from the Main Family or the Branch Family. I worded my previous comment wrong, I’m sorry about that.
