🧠 What if I, as the PARENT, also have ADHD??? [Executive Function]

Parents & Teachers, here are some actual questions I received recently:
"What if I, as the parent, also struggle with aspects of executive functioning?"
"How can I help ADHD kids if I am ADHD myself?"
"Do you recommend the exact same strategies for adults?"
"Can a 54 year old with EF-challenges use your tools, despite age?"
"I hope you spend more time helping late-diagnosis adults!"
"Can your work be applied to adults who struggle with EF?"
These are all similar, and in this video I give you some practical insights you can use!
Oh, and please leave a comment with YOUR thoughts!

✅ ABOUT
I'm Seth of SethPerler.com, and I create free videos to help parents & professionals help students who struggle with homework, motivation, grades, focus, study skills, time management, organization & overwhelm, so they can build a happy & successful future, despite outdated educational norms.
I'm a recovering “lazy failure” of a student, and former teacher turned Executive Function Expert Nerd. I help misunderstood kids learn how awesome they are, while creating breakthroughs to help change their trajectory… for good.
And I can’t wait to show you how! I teach parents and educators how to use my non-traditional, yet practical approaches to help kids boost EF skills.
And I get it firsthand because I’ve been there, and have helped tens of thousands of parents and teachers learn what works, despite all the outdated educational fluff floating around.
✅ HATS I WEAR
I wear a lot of hats in the Executive Function, ADHD, 2e, ASD, and Neurodiversity worlds:
SPEAKER: Advocate. Educator. Education Rabble-Rouser. Consultant.
EF COACH & Course Creator: Guiding Students, Parents, Professionals at EF-Lab.

SUMMIT Creator: Host of the first ever Executive Function Summit, a Free powerhouse B2S event, featuring the best experts around.
I'm an Executive Function, ADHD & 2e Coach,
And a former TEACHER, MEd Gifted Education.
This is also a way for me to give back for the people who helped me through my Executive Function struggles.

Cookie-cutter approaches don't work.
To help outside-the-box, neurodiverse kids, we need the right tools.
Traditional interventions often fail because they don't get to the ROOT of the problem.
So patterns get WORSE each year, leading to pervasive difficulties transitioning into adulthood.
Let's do this RIGHT.

Adhd late diagnosed parent of adhd child. Our entire household STRUGGLES badly to declutter. We work. We are perfectionist. Procrastinators. It's so hard but I'm still learning how to knock those problems down. I feel so bad for how cluttered our house is though.

Thank you! Helpful tips and yes, important to empower our kids how to be true to themselves and strategize in a way that literally plays to their strengths. I would also suggest to remember the goal is progress not perfection when making strategies- I have had to learn how to accept the compromise of a “good enough” strategy to keep the strategy real (as in, a strategy is there to serve me, not my life conformed to serve the “perfect” ideal life strategy)

Thank you thank you thank you for this video. Through your summit and others I’ve watched to support my kid, I realized that I, too, have ADHD (just got late diagnosed about 3 weeks ago). I’m realizing that I have to be patient, especially when my EF strengths/ weaknesses might be a different flavor than my kid. Self compassion has really been helping me show more patience. I’m definitely saving this video to reference later

I have always viewed your channel not because of my son, rather information for me and how I can manage EF.
