Here's a mod you should definitely try out: AML V1.3 (Atlantis Mu Lemuria Version 1.3). It's an excellent mod, and I'm certain you'll love it. (Note: there's a technology exclusive to Atlantis that can be obtained through the combination of a focus and a decision. I won't spoil what it is, but it's amazing.)

Could be a solution to the nether so it can be frontlined: have a chain of decisions after a focus something along the lines of "preparing for the nether invasion" with the description like: equipping your troops with pickaxes shovels etc. In turn if you do the decisions it could remove some of the inpassable terrain (like you mine stairs into the cliffs or building a bridge across them). And as a counter you can do decisions to improve them so they can't be removed with obsidian reinforcements or something ^^

I'd recommend returning to the Great War Redux mod, it just got a massive update for france that adds far more depth and alternative paths, the very thing you asked for the last time you played france in that mod!

If only it had the capability of Kaiserredux (don’t attack me, I just want more flavor)

This reminds me of how my brother and I used to play minecraft. We'd each be running a "country" where we'd mark the border, make trade agreements, vassalized villages, go to this big stone spire on the border to negotiate and stuff. It was really silly but we had a lot of fun. I miss that, I should get him in another game :)

i liked that the gunfire was replaced with minecraft bow sound effects

Equestria at war is a good mod 😅 (all jokes and wierd main theme aside the mod is on par with Kaiserreich with tge number of new mechanics, events, focuses and flaivor)

Tbh this looks like a grate mod and as someone that plays Hoi4 and Minecraft some things I have to say is that they should make plains into eletras and unite some of the “free” villages do help with leg on mp the lag playing by your self is non existent but when playing with friends it needs to be fixed.
