I think you should try Hungarian Flavor. It got some good stuff like Czech Trialism(Austria-Hungary), Danubian Federation and stuff like that. Also a lot of monarchism.

San Andreas mod developer here. Thank you for starting the series with my mod! It has indeed been uploaded on 1st April but I have all the intentions to work more on the mod and expand it across all the map with various content. What you saw is sort of a "pilot" release to see people reactions and get some more inspiration for development.

Dear Alex! Expanded Hungary mod developer here. It's such a huge honour that you tried out my mod! I am working on it alone, and really appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, the democratic tree is the least developed, and as you said the least fun to play. But it seemed you nevertheless had a good run. However, the mod has an extensive Habsburg (I think you would quite like it) and monarchy tree, and the fascist trees are also fleshed out. Love your videos and hope to see more soon! :)

Was there actually a possibilty of Regent Horthy being properly crowned as King? Like was that in the cards for the Country?

@@ClawedAsh It was discussed, but Horthy declined. Also, he was a protestant, which hindered it from happening.

For Hungary, I would suggest Hungarian Flavor. It's also worth a try as it is my favourite mod for Hungary.

I think hun flavor is makes hungary way too overpowered. I love the mod, perfect for beginners but for historical or more realistic runs, Expanded Hungary is far more detailed. Of course its a matter of taste.

Hey Alex, expanded Ireland is also a good mod, includes a new focus tree for Ireland and one I think fits well within hoi4 and would be perfect for this series

A mod that I don’t know if you’ve played is the Youjo Senki mod it’s based off a light novel/manga/anime series based in an alternate 1920’s we’re magic exist and is used in warfare under a new role in the army with Combat mages it’s honestly a lot of fun and recently the mod maker broke the mod by making the combat mages broken as shit now these mages use to be special forces up units that could paradrop, navel invade and were as hard as tank divisions and are much faster now with them being made a main line division template their like tanks but faster and a lot cheaper if you keep production on Infantry equipment, support equipment and combat orbs up.

I like how you're changing stuff up Alex. Personally, I've always enjoyed your mod videos more than the Disaster Saves anyways

Very cool of you to check out some of these mods!

If you'll revisit hungary again in the future, play "Hungarian Flavor", i think its less complicated, and just better.

I think thats the point: its far too eas, and far too simple. Perfect for starters and for multiplayer games, but for realistic or historical playes, its far too simple. Thats why i like expanded now a bit more, its a bigger challenge to keep hungary safe and succesfull, wich reflects on the historical context more.

My choice for Hungary mods is the "always annex Czechoslovakia and Austria to reform Austria Hungary", which also gives you all of Transylvania, too. It does what it says on the label with no extra bullshit. Also, HOI4 San Andreas was just done by ISP like 3 days ago, go watch it.

The GTA mod is not the best in my opinion however it truly is something that is somewhat of a total conversion.. Despite no research... the Hungarian expansion through is the opposite of terrible... unless you become a puppet of the germans.

Dispersed is the “meta” now. If you don’t have an Air Force then you’ll have to repair not only the infrastructure, railroads and supply depots that get logistically struck but also the very factories doing the repairing once they’re targeted.

There's a mod called Hungarian Flavour, where you can go democratic Hungary, and get basically all of central/eastern Europe into the allies and hold off the Germans together it's really fun

Love your videos! I still can’t get the hang of heart of iron, might be a lost cause, but watching you play is always fascinating! Also mods are insane. In almost any game, but especially the strategy games, people have to be putting crazy amount of hours into them. I barely even understand how to play the base game let alone “mod” or whatever haha.

You should definitely do more mod videos, Alex. Disaster saves are kinda boring since they follow that kind of similar chain of events as in remake the army, hold the line, and then just push back. This is always different.

You might like a mod called AGORA I think it was. It adds new mechanics and focus trees and stuff, the Hungarian focus tree in it looks pretty cool. You can go back to the Hun Empire and just go made conquering everywhere with horses.

I highly recommend the monarchist tree, I do monarchist playthrough almost as much as you do, and it is a loss not doing monarchist playthrough on this mod

You can do New Dinasty, but okay. The 12 points is a revolution ideas from 1848.

While playing as Romania, the soviets declared war on me. And all my units started reorganizing on the front, loosing their entrenchment, and let the Soviets run through my lines. I still don’t know why my troops did that but… 🤷🏻
