The fossils being able to turn into two different Pokémon does make a lot of sense. It‘s referencing people in ancient Greece digging out protoceratops fossils (only the beak) and thinking that those were griffin beaks/fossils. The same thing with the mammoth bones. The people in Ancient Greece thought that those were the bones of giants/cyclops. It’s genius

Loving the video so much!!! I want to quickly explain the fossils, in the region I got two professors and one recreates the fossil from what they actually are, the other one creates a total "fantasy" figure and just uses the DNA of original one (that's why the pairs have shared types), so one is like a normal fossil mon, the other one is a new species! I made this inspired by old studies found in Greece that implied that fossils could be the confirmation of the existence of griffins and giants, when they where actually the fossils of mastodons and triceratops!

The Viperusa line names have origins based on the Gorgon sisters, but their name origins are reversed. In the myths Stheno is the oldest sister, Fruitheno is the base form. Euryale is the middle sister, Euryvine is the middle stage. Medusa is the youngest sister, Viperusa is the final evolution. Intentional or not I think it's really cool since the Gorgon sisters are some of my favorite characters in greek myth.

Also that Moros fakemon is based off of Moros, the embodiment of Doom Edit: Zephaun is part fawn (Roman version of a satyr) and Zephyr, the god of the west wind. And Agamento is bases off Agamemnon, the Greek king from the Trojan war. Despicable man, but considered a great king at the time Java note is probably based off the Erymanthian Boar (or the Kalidonian) from Greek myth. Basiclops is indeed based off the Cyclopes, but based off the basilisk from European myth from the dark ages, bit of an odd choice ngl Naxoreal is clearly bases off the aurora, but also Boreas, the god of the North wind Like wise, Parosea is based off Hippocampi (literal sea horses) and the god of the south wind (I always forget the name) Delosky is obviously based of Pegasus child of Poseidon and Medusa, and Delos an island of the coast of Crete

I think Brazox is actually based off the Greek execution method the Brayan bull in which the victim would be but in a bronze bull and the one doing the execution would light a fire under the bull in which would make it so the victim would be boiled alive but that is not all. There was trumpet like tubs in the bull that made it so all of the victim’s screams would be amplified and everyone in the half a mile vicinity would hear the screaming. 😁

I love the apollelf and artemelf because as someone who learns and studies classics theres so much stuff to say about it,first like you mentioned apollo is the god of music, singing, sun, instruments all that and artemis is the goddess of hunting so to see that clash against each other is very satisfying also another thing is in the odessey in the contest where Penelope(odysseus’ wife) asks her suitors(people who want to marry her) to string the bow and fire theough the 12 axes (which was very hard to do) Odysseus comes in disguise as he wants to see who is loyal or not and first try he strings the bow now the line says it when he strings the bow it says it sounded like someone strung a harp as if it was a swallows note, my point is it links back to Apollo and Artemis because he’s doing something with a bow and arrow like artemis would while making it sound like an instrument which apollo does i just thought that was really cool how it clashed together also with the medusa pokemon it would be great for an athena based pokemon because they could have a rivalry because initially the story was poseidon liked medusa and they hooked up athen didnt like this cause she liked poseidon (even tho thats her uncle) so she cast a spell and turned medusa and her sisters into gorgans i just feel like if athena had a pokemon based off of her they could be rivals just like quaqaval and tsareena

I could see Spewtnik as maybe a Sonic reference as well. It kinda reminds me of the buzz bomber and other bug bots as well? The nik could also come from Robotnik

as soon as I soon saw brasox I knew what it was based on just seeing his reaction as positive I think he doesn't know that it is based on a mythical iron bull or a torture device

Ok just a recap there about the "Medusa" Florges and how you said theres a redundancy there actually isnt, Medusa is her own thing but based off a Gorgon, Gorgons are like Medusa but cant turn one to stone, Medusa is her own mythos while there are many Gorgons in Greek mythos

Wow! fakemon artists all over the world are so awesome and Talented. Gamefreak should organise a competition where all artists send their entries and winner's entry is available in the game as well.

Apollo is one of the few GRECO-ROMAN (Greek and Roman) Gods to have the SAME Name in both Greek and Roman Mythology. In Greek Mythology he is the God of Prophecy and Music and plays an instrument called the Lyre while in Roman Mythology he is the God of the Sun. In Greek Mythology he also falls in love with a woman named Daphne after Eros (Modern Day Inspiration for Cupid) shoots him with a LOVE arrow. However Eros also shoots Daphne with a HATE arrow who, in a DESPERATE attempt to escape Apollo’s Affection for her, transforms into a tree…

Having a pokemon based on the Brass Bull is ballsy. But i guess for fakemon its doable. Dont have to worry as much about higherups at Nintendo getting worried. XP
