Actually, to deal with the war thingy bug, you don't need to relaunch the whole game, just the save.

For the war screen bug, just save and reload, no need to relaunch the full game.

You dont need to relaunch the game when you have the bug that doesn't let you see the casualties you can return to the main menu and load the save

Fix for the war bug: Save your game, then load that savegame. Annoyance from the bug: 250% annoying.

Reloading the save fixes the war screen won’t open bug. However, reloading might trigger the no army theater or selectable generals GUI bug.

For that war screen bug, I believe I found that exiting to the menu and then loading a save fixed it. Anyways, if this does work, could you perhaps view the Old World Blues mod before November ends (or after). I think you'd like the chaos they've created now.
