Quick question does your mod fix some of paradox mistakes with some historical rulers not having their consort in the game and other issues such as stats and pipeline for generals?

An example for the consort issue being of you play 1470s and 1480s as Edward IV second reign he doesn’t have Elizabeth woodvilleas his consort. Along with that his admin should be 5 and diplomatic skill should be a 4 since modern historians and Tudor writers praise him for restoring authority and increasing the states power along with his second reign being a time of prosperity along with that he needs to be a six military wise since he never lose a battle so his military pipeline wise should be much more maneuver and attack along with him being able to start with fertile trait and tactical genius

3:20: Cumans still existed in 1444, albeit maybe not a majority. The last cuman speaker died in the 19th century

Logically the only move in this mod for a begginer is to restore Eastern Rome as Byzantium

VU goes upto 1903. Also there are 4 stages of manpower reserves, they may give maluses or bonuses depending on how much manpower you have. So you need to micromanage manpower a whole lot. For HRE game play, if you get the monuments in praha, wien and berlin, then fully upgrade them, you can easily get enough imperial authority to revole privilegia by 1540 without having to rely on exploits.

24:00 Small correction: The Ottoman sultans didn't pretend to the title of caliph up until the conquest of Egypt in 1517. At the time EU4 starts they only hold the titles of Sultan and Padişah. After the conquest of Constantinople they pretended to the title of Caeser of Rome (Kayzer-i Rum), after the conquest of Egypt they retraced their family line to the prophet (which, just, no, and everybody knew it, they were like 'dude, you guys came from central Asia, how in the world can you pretend to have the blood of the prophet?'), and at some point they also called themselves Şah of Iran, because they were descendants of the Seljukids who had ruled over Iran about 400 years prior, which is... Still more understandable than declaring themselves caliphs.

I never heard they pretended to be descendants from the prophet, and that's not even required to be a Caliphate, what I know is the the last abassid caliph that ws living under mamluk protection gave up his title to selim I in 1517

@@aluminiumknight4038 It actually is a requirement, the different Caliphs around the world retraced their family lines back to the prophet in one way or another (not strictly directly descended from him, but from his uncles, his daughter Fatima etc. It is the reason why the Ottoman Caliphate was never really recognised by the Muslim populations of the Levant.

Would be cool if Ludi decided to try Meiou and Taxes 3.0, it's a fantastic mod but very complex

The culture map I always assumed a province being a culture doesn't mean the population being dominantly that culture, but that the elites of that province being that culture.

The thing with diplomats needed is in the base game

Those buildings only provide the bonus for the first one being built they don't stack. It'd be straight up broken if you could get 20 discipline from a few buildings

The map is so good that Ludi had to hide his beautiful face in order to show everything.

In between 14th and 15th centuries, not just Cumans also Avar Turks living in Hungarian lands btw. But still this mod is so good

There were kumans in 1444 in Hungary, but this map is inaccurate because an other steppe nation the jász-oset lived on that territory. The last man who spoke the kuman language died in 1770 in Hungary.

In VU you can release Almohad caliphate from any morrocan culture provinces. It has cores on most of north africa and half of iberia. And it has a unique govt reform called the caliphate

I think at starting date Silesian culture should be accounted as Slavic, as it is about 100 years after Silesia separated from Poland to Bohemia and both of this countries are Slavic, we can say about the start of germanization of this culture group during reign of Habsburgs over this terraines which also affected Bohemian regions

Yup it got hardly germanised.. few hundreds years later... At this point those lands were ruled by polish nobles which were under influence of Bohemia so lol

@@quonton3928 "ostdiedlung" was interesting process in history, but werent the people already assimilated in 1444? After black death decimating villages, and people moving to towns, it would be hard not to blend. I dont know, im no historican. :D

@@quonton3928 hey man, if you're one of the devs I would say that this is an awesome mod and please don't take it personally. The germanic settlements in the area started to appear in the beginning of 16th century. Vast majority of those Germans were protestants, who were fleeing to Bohemia and Poland, as the nobility (especially Silesians with a great autonomy) had a religious freedom in those countries. Silesia in 1444 was ruled by the polish nobility loyal to the bohemian king. I would risk a statement that there were more Jews in the area than Germans. Those protestants had exactly the same status as jews, they could do whatever they want, but they couldn't buy land. Fun fact, there were plenty of Germans on these lands before indeed, but those were "medics", architects etc., so the group of intellectualists who saw Eastern Europe as a good place to earn some money on local courts, as they were highly needed during the modernization of society during that time. Anyway, they were not nobility, so they had no real power in Silesia, definitely didn't rule any of the cities/villages/settlements and they didn't represent the majority of society. The "germanization" of Silesia started when Austria integrated Bohemia, but it was quite chill. The real germanization started when Prussia took over these lands in about 1740. There are still plenty of Silesians who would rather be a part of Germany than Poland nowadays. Same goes for Pomerania, that in 1444 was still using polish/lechitic dialect, but it started to move towards The Reich over the next decades. Greetings from Silesia man!

Is there a way I can mod in a new island that doesn't exist in the game? Like make an Atlantis civilization in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I imagine it must be really hard, as it'd need new trade hubs, regions and continents to be added to the game :/

on the contrary, I am sure this mod and the modifications they made on culture groups make all Turks quite happy. It is nice to be not represented in a totally twisted inaccurate way for a change.

playing the mod, the ai byzantines always destroy their own Walls. They start with an level 6Fort with 200% local defence, that also blocks you from entering Constantinople, and just delete it. As the Byzantines you can easily get 40k Ottoman casualties out of that Provence, and the AI just says, jep, we deleted that.

Okay, I am slightly annoyed now. I've seen such mods like 60 times in the past 2 years and I always want to see a playthrough or at least a video until 1550 or smth of someone playing it and they always present what they see culture wise and trade goods wise, buildings and then proceed to declare 1 war and leave.

@@quonton3928 Those German settlements were all over eastern europe but they never were enough to flip entire culture to germanic... By that argyment you could easily flip polish or ruthenian to german culture grupe... which is the same scale of nonesense.

M&T is wildly accurate from the beginning as well. They have a bunch of history nerds as part of the dev team.
