Cool video, just have a small correction: 2:09 We exhale CO2 because its a waste product of the chemical pathways cells use to make energy, where molecules are decarboxylated, not from carbon reacting with O2.

@@daniellewilson8527 That's more of a biology question, but it's a good one to ask! If I had to guess, I would assume that the alpha-Carbon in amino acids is essential to their makeup, as I don't think it's possible for a Silicon to bond with the amine group. Hope you enjoyed the video!

maybe silicon dioxide could be transported in the form of silicate (SiO3--) in basic medium (like how CO2 it's transported in the form of bicarbonate). This would limit the life to be aqueous or maybe other forms of disposing silicon dioxide could emmerge. all this ignoring that life couldn't exist as complex molecules would be unstable due to silicon weak bonds, large radius, and d orbitals, making it easier to be attacked, including water in most cases. Maybe molecules like Silicone could exist, but in silicone there are carbon atoms protecting the silicon, so the point of not using carbon it's missed.

It depends on the form of Carbon. For graphite and diamond, the melting point is lower than the boiling point by a few hundred Centigrade. However, my sources say that the melting and boiling point of Carbon is near identical. But that may not be the case. I’m sure there’s public research available on this matter.

Yes, but I read your question wrong. Anyways. There's the heat of change and the heat of... increasing the temperature, i forget the names. At the proper temperature, there's enough energy to boil everything (change the state, evaporation). below that, but above the temperature to change into solid (freezing/solidifying), only a portion of the material is changing at a time. There's a graph for it. Heat of change or whatever.
