What if a Factory Automation Game was a Roguelike?

Ойындар

ShapeHero Factory is a game that fuses the factory simulation, roguelite, and tower defense genres. Use different shape combinations to mass-produce a variety of heroes, who will then fight all on their own. All you need to worry about is building the optimal factory to manufacture them.

That's not necessarily true: If the inputs have wildly different rates but you want to split the output 50/50, a merge followed by a split can be just what you need, as long as the single line in between can cope with the rate of both inputs.

@@shadowofdeath8000 That depends on what one means by the term "rougelike". In the more traditional sense one could call Portals of Phereon such. By traditional sense i mean the only thing you keep from "run to run" is your understanding of the game gained from previous attempts, with a lot of things being random. Not truly r34 as its not art of preexisting characters though, but a good game, really, even if you stripped all the sexrelated stuff out of it you have a combination of Battle for Wesnoth style turnbased combat with Creatures that you can catch and breed (and find interesting results of combination of crossbreeds, i believe it was magical girl crossed with centaur that gives unicorns, plantgirl and mermaid... or merewhateverthemale term is, obviously it has to be male and female respectively... or one of them futa, that would work, too. That gives its been a long time so i dont quite recall, but it gives you oxygen under water. In more recent times, many have come to understand "theres progression between things" as rougelike, when in my view thats kinda the opposite and makes a rougelike into a rougelite, but if thats what one was to mean by it, you keep assets, skills and such of the owner in Slavemaker 3 between slaves you train.

And yes, i couldve mentioned a lot more about portals of phereon such as resource management, base building, war with one of the gods, either evolution or creation, satisfying the kings demands or facing issues there,... Good as only a game not restricted by conventions could manage which well such a game is not that marketable so it isnt constrained by those conventions, and as such...

This is almost great, they just have to iron out those frustrating cases like machines not being able to output directly from one to another. Also just have a factorio-like splitter, it's one item instead of 2 and you don't have to worry about flipping it all the time. Also add a cut-and-paste for when you need to move your build a few tiles and the game will be great!

This is not a gripe, just an observation: Some of the menu sounds are exactly the sound my nose does when I'm stuffed and try to unstuff it without using my hands and my mind hears this and processes "wow, my nose is stuffy, feel feverish" until it realises "Hey, my nose isn't really stuffy, stop fever" and loop.

I dunno, tried the demo myself, had tons of time to do everything needed to beat the levels... like by a large margin. Even if you find yourself a bit slow I'd imagine just doing what you can in the time limit and then getting used to the patterns you'd be fine after a few attempts. I really don't think the game is as chaotically hard as Olexa makes it seem, but I guess that depends on how you plan this stuff.

Those genres usually NEVER permute, and competent people tried their best. the genres have mutually-exclusive gameplay mechanics in their core (loops). factory size must stay limited and mostly mobile-modules, hard constrain to fatroy-genre. combat must be separated, and be mostly auto-battler.
