Olexa why dont you like meta progression and do you thank there is a way to keep it and have it actually be good?
It always feels lazy and intrusive to me. Like the game is taunting you, telling you you need to waste your time losing before you can win. Some games do it very well but others just waste the player’s time. Tiny rogues is an example of one that does it very well, buff the player but give them many choices so it’s strategic and not just “here’s 5% more damage”

Just thought I'd comment this, it was bugging me why you kept getting a loop on your Mushroom script and I had to figure it out using your code, it's probably not the best solution but if you add a "move(East)" above the do_a_flip() in the event it gets stuck it should just continue to harvest and I found more times I'd get a full mushroom covering the entire grid this way. while True: move(East) do_a_flip() if can_harvest(): harvest() break break

(I plant bushes there in the equivalent place in my code, on the assumption that if I want wood Iʼll want it from the trees and bushes. For that, water does help.) Edit: Oops. Between watching episode 1 and episode 2 I got the game and started playing (I came back when I had trouble with sunflowers, purely from me not reading how they work correctly, and wanted to see how you handled them). And I *know* I had trouble figuring out how to say a checkerboard pattern for trees. But since I just figured it out, the answer feels obvious and it seems weird watching him figure it out and not getting it. 32:32 Same bug as last episode: you put the move inside the if statement.
tylers out here like "oh ok i understand i just have to go to the fireplace but on the other side" and im still five minutes behind trying to figure out what the yellow flower thing on the wall is... im often impressed with the look wins on this channel and shit but this series is making me feel completely outclassed intellectually and its. kinda fun tbh

I'm not going to lie. I really enjoyed how you played this one strangely. Some other games there's sometimes a that's suboptimal itch, but for this it was fully endorse the gameplay and how you approached the game elements.

I just recently 100%ed this game, I love it but it def needs some balancing tweaks, you are way too under powered at the beginning and way too overpowered by the end, the sweet-spot comes and goes relatively quickly to the rest of the game.
I don't get to watch as much as I'd like, but your dedication and organization is inspiring Olexa. Keep it up man!
