I am just trying to get into Tolu. I like it, but I struggle a bit. Would love to hear someone talk more about the nuances. I feel like it might be a similar situation for me as Cherie described … that I might grow to really love it.

@@_-Anna-_I love it so much. Powdery tolu with ambery undertone that’s not too patchouli and definitely not vanillic. No annoying ambroxan. Citrusy herbs and spices floats atop. Quite sensual.

Gosh you've been smelling amazing throughout your winter 🤍. I ended up revisiting Prive from Ormonde Jayne because of hearing your talk about it lately, and i wanted to remind myself of its personality. Oh dear. . . It's reignited my feelings for it again. I can see the differences to Ormonde Woman after comparing them again this time around. It's so much more dispersed and light. And so angelic in its aromatic behaviour. I get what you mean about the spice, but on me it's more nutmegy 👍 I've also discovered Champaca and really enjoy it too

Always so much fun to see what everyone reaches for. This year I’ve worn a lot of Guidance and Myths instead of other Amouage loves. I have a wee decant of Paris-Paris which I adore - while I don’t appreciate Gris Dior, I fell hard for Paris-Paris. I have a 5x8ml set coming from Ormonde Jayne. A £10 shipping fee to NZ is incredibly good. Agree with you that shipping downunder can be so(!) pricy. I’m still looking to purchase my beloved Nawabh of Oud soon. But thrilled to be able to try those I’ve selected (Damask/Prive/Champaca/Ta’if and Nawabh of Oud (extra decant)). I’ve just recently started to enjoy Tonka and also have Shalimar Millesime Tonka. Stunning. The OG for me is unwearable due to my chemistry gifting me voluminous animalic leather 😞. But this one I adore. I am excited about the lengthening days and warmer weather. Will be wonderful to wear all my fresher scents more frequently too ❤

Hi Cherie, good to see you, and Matt 👋. We didn’t have much of a winter did we, and this weekend is going up to 29 🙀 I got some Diptique on the overnight Qatar flight (which was fabulous). It’s Eau des Sens which is not normally my thing, but I really like it. It might be more suited to summer …. So this weekend maybe 😂.

I know! People keep saying it will get cold again but I’m not so sure, I think spring has set in! Well if you would like my travel size of Eau de Sens you are most welcome to have it, I’m sure we will be due for a catch up when I’m back from holidays anyway! I find it interesting the self-control you exhibit by buying the 10 ml or less bottles of fragrance. My daughter has been trying to entice me down the fragrance rabbithole since June, and it was just not the right time...until early November. I've been wearing the OG Gianni Versace for Women since it was released in 1981. It was discontinued shortly after his death, and I've tried to build a stockpile since, but it's getting harder to find at reasonable prices. Soooo...since educating myself on fragrance notes and learning what notes I enjoy and which I do not...I can now pretty much determine whether a fragrance iis for me or not by notes alone. I've bought at least 30--most blind buys--bottles of fragrance since then but I did get a few samples early on while building my confidence. There are none thus far that haven't been what I expected...which sounds bizarre, I know...especially out of 30-plus bottles! We are having a "fragrance Christmas" and I'm quite excited about it! Whilst I couldn't go completely mad and buy three bottles of everything (one for me, my daughter, and my almost 11-year-old granddaughter), I did on a few things. I wisely bought some atomizers to decant fragrances for all of us so we can share. When we know what we like, we can work on full bottles then. (Don't get me wrong...I do have a few travel-size in with the full bottles...but more full bottles than travel-size.) I find I like s-o-m-e Middle Eastern fragrances plus niche fragrance houses the best. Most of what is available in department stores I find to be formulaic and "ordinary". What I have always liked about my OG Gianni Versace is that it was a bit exotic and unexpected. The notes lean to the spicy with some light white floral and citrus-y from the bergamot...while it dies down to a musky, woody basenotes. Thanks for letting me ramble! This has been a fun rabbithole to explore for me!

I love this! Thank you for sharing! Haha the rabbit hole is a wild ride! Sounds like you have really nailed your preferred scent profiles! I find that I can still be pleasantly surprised by fragrances that have notes I think I don’t like. My tastes change a lot faster now than they did a few years ago, yet conversely, I feel like I have really been able to narrow down my preferences. It’s a fun hobby to see how perfumers manipulate notes and also to learn to appreciate over time things which were not always a joy for me to smell! Please feel free to ramble anytime! 🤗

Hello Cherie,🌺 I enjoyed hearing about your winter season, fragrance 'round-up'. I think it's natural to go through phases, with different fragrance notes. I tend to get tired of wearing the same perfume notes over and over. Changing things up, must surely be part of the fun of collecting and wearing fragrance. 😁 I ended up bringing a number of different sample size perfumes on my trip this month. On that big anniversary I mentioned before, I ended up wearing my samples of 'Hush, Hush' Edt during the day and the 'Hush, Hush' Perfum in the evening. Interestingly, the Perfume was less sweet than my bottle of Edp. The iris, paper, musk and woody notes were more prominent on my skin. The parfum was more like what I imagined the Edp would be like. I decided to order a bottle of the Parfum when I returned, as Sarah's campaign on Indiegogo is close to closing. I have no idea if there will be another opportunity to purchase it. On both occasions I wore the parfum, I got a compliment from my partner. It became a 'must' buy. 😉 You must be anticipating your two special days that are soon approaching. I didn’t like Ta’if at first but grew to love it and now I own this including its elixir flanker 😂 I feel it’s got a unique texture in its simplicity of the scent profile. And honestly, I can’t thank you enough for introducing Le Jardin de Monsieur Li Hermès. Never loved any citrusy frags until I met that one. So beautiful and serene!

Nice list .. Iike the sound of 'Guidance'. If you can get your hands on a Bottega Veneta 'Illusion' sample, I'd love to hear your feelings about it.. I purchased recently and it seems to be taking over everything else... don't know what's going on, as I love to change thing up. You look beautiful by the way.

I think it was an Instagram post on the Amouage account and also an email to their general mailing list. :) Where I am, winters typically sit around low 20’s (Celsius) so quite mild compared to some other places! 😂

I don’t love Neroli or Orange Blossom, but I do like Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir

Hello - Thank you for the video. I think your winter temperature is similar to UK summer. Are you in Queensland? Looks like Brisban average winter temperatures are similar to UK summer temperatures.

Yup that sounds about right! This year the winter was milder than last though I’m pretty sure. But compared to the UK our winter isn’t winter at all!
