What I wish someone told me before moving to Italy...

Hey guys 🤍 Since I know a lot of you are playing with the thought of moving to Italy or even moving to Rome, I thought I'd give you some insights on what I wish I would've known before moving to Italy. This is all about how life in Italy may differ from your home country, how the Italian structures for foreigners are etc. This is my personal experience and since I live in Rome for over two years now in total I hope it helps you!! :) Also, more La Sapienza content is about to come so stay tuned!
xx

I’m so tired of all these videos talking about the downsides of moving to Italy and item #1 is always “I didn’t learn Italian.” Like what did you expect?

Great video! Do you think it would be better to do an Erasmus in Rome or in Bologna? I think Rome would be a good idea 'cause there are a lot of international organizations based there (and I study Political Science). Still, Bologna seems more beautiful and organized than Rome and it is a very walkable city, while in we can't really bike and I've been told that public transport is useless ... What do you think? Thank you very much!

Hey! Thanks for your question :) Honestly, I have never been to Bologna but I have some friends who spend a year there and they all really loved it. I think Bologna is nice of you want to live in a smaller city and have more of a "student experience" because it really is THE student city in Italy and as you said its very walkable so that's nice :) But I love Rome because of its beautiful architecture, all the possibilities you have here and I just prefer bigger cities in general. However, it's very unorganized haha so yes, I think Bologna is more organized for sure hahah if that's important for you maybe Bologna is a better fit? Hope this helped! If you want me to talk more about it lmk :)

Why Romeeee in Rome noone speaks English 😂 you were brave but as an Italian Rome is the last city I would live in. So slow and chaotic, terrible public transport, people kinda rude in manners but also super chatty and easy (I'm from the north near Switzerland so it's another world for me lol). Not to mention public sanity and bureaucracy 😂 Rome is beautiful as a tourist though. But trash has become such a huge problem, honestly I feel ashamed. Food is 💯 though. Where are you from in Germany? I would like to go to Germany so bad ❤
