Where you live is beautiful! Awesome drives for work! And being 46, I understand life be life-ing. I’m sure I speak for many of us when I say as long as you keep posting, you do you Boo lol I think about starting a channel all the time but with my full-time job and my mom having cancer, it’ll have to wait for now. So I’m sure MANY of us get it, not just me, myself and I. Man, I started “The Stand” like a week before you did and I’m still reading it lol I’m purposely pacing it out because 1) it’s a tome and 2) spooky season. I’ve been reading other shorter, fun books around it. I just read “The Only One Left” by Riley Sager, so good! Been loading up on his books for the season, though I doubt Ill get through them all. Leaves plenty for next year. You’re doing a great job. Post when you can, I always get excited when you post. Heck yeah, it’s Ian time!

I love books with short chapters.. I feel like they are easier to read and if I just want to read a little bit I can just read a chapter or two and be done.. not have to spend the time reading 20-30 page chapters.. I also feel like I read faster with short chapters... maybe its an illusion but ill take it lol

Tips for reading with a job? Physical books. I dont enjoy audiobooks.

  • @iangubeli

With physical books working a full time job, I have to carve out some time to sit down and read. If I am at work, sometimes I will take my thirty minute break and just read. If at home, I will read as I am going to bed. The last hour of the day is the best time for me to just focus on the book!

I get the majority of my audiobooks for free from Libby and Hoopla. All you need is a library card and you can borrow as many as you’d like. I also utilize Spotify for audiobooks as well.

@@krane1012005 Well, I got experience in this field when I graduated from high school and got a job with a solar company out in Jersey. I learned how to do solar surveys for residential homes, and was able to translate my expertise to the market of commercial signs and awnings. A lot of the time companies like a sign or solar company will train people with no prior experience on what they’re looking for. It’s worth looking into for sure! It’s a very chill job, you get to work by yourself doing something that is relatively low stress! I just applied to this job almost a year ago and they said “what the heck, you’re hired!”

    1. What is it that you do for a living? If you're able to say without losing your job. Lol 2. I'm of the camp that says listening to audiobooks doesn't count as reading. It's a book being read to us and has nothing to do with us reading it. So when I listen to them I personally don't count them towards my reads. What says you? 3. Did you call your dog Bubba? If so glad to see I'm not the only one. 😂 Thanks for the video.

I know it wasn't asked to me, but I count audiobooks toward my reading goal. I, as Ian, have a full time job, so it's hard to find time to sit down and read books. I do audio, ebooks and physical books; but most of the books I go through are audio. My main goal is to consume the stories, so I count every single media I use to do so. For me, audiobooks were a game changer once I started with them, as it has provided me a way to consume more stories and enjoy more this hobby that I love. 😊

@@Jeanette_Medina Yeah I think they are great but I just can't count them as something I've read because I didn't actually read it. I used to deliver pizzas in the early 90s and would go to the library and take out books on tape. Man I listened to so many back then... Nostalgic... drive around delivering pizza listening to stories. Ahhh lol some of them were like productions and had different people for different characters and sound effects... ok rambling. Lol Have a great day.

So, I love y’all’s guesses! I am a commercial site surveyor! I go around to pretty much any location you can think of (professional sports arenas, stadiums; fast food restaurants; superstores; hotels; corporate office buildings) and I survey them for potential signage or awnings. I help gather information for the face of companies and the like so that they can brand their buildings with their image! Okay, so I do count audiobooks as reading. Since I drive for the majority of my days, consuming the stories through audio has helped me read more books than I would ever have done. A lot of the time when I get home, I will read along with an audiobook (especially if if a book for a video I am doing so I can get it read in a timely manner). And yes, I call my dog Bubba!! He loves it, I love it! It’s endearing!
