I'm a fan of velcro straps with a buckle on the end that you can thread the other end through and then cinch tight. An easy and quick way to make things small and packable. Bon voyage.
Good luck, nice to see what equipment you have. After biking john o groats - lands end, nc500, way of roses, transpennine trail, c2c,w2w and around the full uk coastline im looking for somewhere new to go. Will look forward to your video and may decide to do the route myself in my own time.
Always nice to see riders setups, specially if you are planning to race in the future, thanks Josh!
Loved your China -> Europe Video years ago. Now enjoying the Atlas Mountain Race videos. Thank you!!
You got a pretty nice setup . Try to keep that backpack lighter , i suffered a lot because of it in the last Amr 2022
Good luck mate! Wishing you nothing but the best!
Hey, hello and greetings from Rowlands Gill. Good luck with everything Josh.
Very cool to see. I have the ergon gp3 grips as well and used them for a bike trip from granny to Georgia. Super comfortable imo. Good luck and have fun!
Keeep it going!!
Good luck man!👍👍👍
Good luck Josh 👍
Good stuff
It'll be interesting to see what you think about your gear by the end - I'm thinking of signing up to SRMR/AMR/Hellenic next year Currently tracking ya - good luck with the last stretch! Some possibly niche questions - Being midpack did shops have enough food/supplies irrespective of change? Was a battery pack enough with the duration of your ride and lack of dynamo? Are the Exposure MTB lights a necessary upgrade over their Road/Strada type systems? Think it'd be better for recovery being on a hardtail and more efficient, or reducing the strain on your core via the full sus? Tyre choice you wished you'd had? Ideal sleep plan? Did the checkpoint sleeping work or do you need more to camp wild? How practical was the flight attendant with charge rationing/weight and space - worth it? What fork travel did you have and were ya happy with it?
Best of luck! - no sleeping mat or dynamo will be interesting as the days go on. Will look forward to dotwatching!
Oh, you must be suffering a lot during the AMR. Right now you are being passed by a bunch of people. I wish you can make it to the finish and feel alright!
Good tech video
Loved your race videos and this gear overview. Very useful! Can't wait to do it myself. Did 3,5 liters of water capacity turn out to be enough? Would you have needed more in higher temperatures? Anything else you would have changed in hindsight?
Could someone tell me what was that energy product mentioned? Good luck for the race

Would you stick with the battery pack set up again or get a dynamo? Was it easy to find places to charge?
What were the Mitts again?
Hi Josh I am doing next edition and planning to reach by boat and train Do you now if in Morocco trains allowed the bike Thanks

Technically no. But I managed it on the way out. Some of their trains are very posh and others are like being in India. It’s a bit of a hassle requiring your bike to be in a bag and both wheels to be off and they still aren’t that happy to accommodate you but I managed just. For the return leg I took a bus as it was a much more pleasant experience with regards to housing your bike.
