The CO2 hanger bend and quick link removal hack are pure brilliance!

Split link removal hack is genius!

For splitlink removal i just use a shoelace or piece of rope. Thread it in both sides next to the link, pull on it, and done.

Admittedly this is only relevant for attaching the split link, but last time I did this on a Shimano chain I was able to secure the links by hand. It really didn’t take much force (you just need to align the links properly first). Great hacks though (especially the gear cable one!)

To fix a cut sidewall, and to be used in conjunction with a spare inner tube, as a tyre boot I have several different sized pieces of cut-up old inner tube, (the bigger the better). Place inside over the cut, insert inner tube and partially inflate to keep in place, then fully inflate. I love the cable reuse, and will scavenge a few lengths when I next replace my cables. Clever use of a CO2 canister too. Oh and yes, and my tool kit/saddle bag is growing larger.

Watched this and didnt think I would learn a single thing, I was right again! I learned 2 new things, thanks so much!!! Huge fan of Josh, Nick and Francis cade. Could you help please??? Occasionally I have major trouble getting the bead off the rim, no problem really at home but couple of times bikepacking I used my folding saw to cut an approx 2 inch diameter branch, placed against tyre close to rim and bashed with a big rock, worked both times and was lucky not to damage the tyre. Have to make sure the branch has a really cleaan/smooth cut. Do you have an alternative fix please??? Eddy from The Toon.

Really useful hacks. Curious about using superglue though. Wouldn't a traditional tyre repair glue be better because of flexibility?

First have a cut tire only then use it to bend the CO2 canister to bend the hanger back. Noted.

What type is the sidewall patch and glue? I always carry a car tire patch kit, super thick and durable.
