@TheOtherDoughnut not sure it's about people not affording that. Maybe it makes more sense to get 3 copies for $7 in 4 - 5 weeks for multiple decks instead of 1 for $7.

I play Bruenor Battlehammer for my equipment deck and Caduceus, Staff of Hermes should slot right in there. It’s a fun one.

My favorite thing about this set is Fatal Push collapsing to 60 cents. A small win, but a win nonetheless. As someone getting into pioneer I'm a big fan of that.

Second the inclusion of Mjolnir on this list. I'm slotting it in my Isshin deck for multiple reasons. 1. The trigger is doubled with Isshin on the battlefield and meets the legend requirement to equip it for its casting cost. 2. You can break parity on the counters by doubling up and basically turning off a problematic creature with a good attack or tap ability (Eldrazi with annihilator/Captain Sisay tutors I'm looking at you.) 3. The damage hits each opponent which is great but it also punishes crackbacks with wide boards like token decks. boarder point I think this set (particularly the artifacts) are going to be seen as valuable includes in very niche decks for years to come. You wouldn't want to run the apple or staff of eden in every deck but in decks that like to take opponents stuff and aren't color restricted are going to be strong includes or may end up being your 103rd card. Only time will tell.

I dont get why this isnt more talked about honestly. A LOT of these cards are great or fun. Nice reprints as well. I get that there is a burn out though because who wants to buy a new set every month or two. But still, there are some really cards in this set. I hate the price tag for the packs though since there's not a lot of cards in the packs. So that's another thing I understand as well. I wonder if singles will go up in price once some cards get more popular and not as many packs are opened. Who knows. I'm just blabbing now.

This set after opening 50 packs is 90% draft chaff they took out the commons making the uncommons the new bulk trash when you get 14 of the same card and piles of 10 of several others trust me do not buy this dookie singles only

Honestly I think there are alot of good commander cards in here that I would love to have "Brotherhood Regalia" "Assassin's Gauntlet" i think for 3 mana tap every creature target opponent controls gets tapped and when I do damage draw a card is too good. "Excalibur, Sword of Eden" Is too good. You being able to cast " Battlefield Improvisation" Befor damage is crazy in an equipment voltron deck. "Desynchronization" pretty decent. Plus I love that sword of feast and famines price is decreasing. Its not the best set but their are some great gems.

I play that Nahiri. I use living weapons and for mirrodin equipment that come in with a creature attached to it. That cuts down on having to pay equip cost or creatures to wield said equipment

I was mildly interested in the set, having enjoyed AC well enough to buy most of the mainline installments, but after seeing how dull the art is, the only card I'm bothering to buy is The Capitoline Triad, and that's just because I think it'll be fun to play an entirely colourless, non-Eldrazi commander deck. The rest of the set, I really struggled to care enough to even read.

Always a focus, above and beyond, on rares. I miss MTG back when players had maybe three rares per deck and had to think to make wicked combinations. Nowadays, most players play 45-50 rares per 60-card deck. Nearly every rare does way too much (per card), therefore making the game less about imagination and skill and more about percentage of bank account tapped per debit/credit card usage. Buying those wins, in other words.

Im buying Black Market Connections for 11 bucks by the truck load. Next week im going to do another big order of that card. I have a ton of decks it needs to go in. I couldnt spend 30 bucks for it alone but 11 bucks i will.

literally won a game with Excalibur last night in my Raiyuu Equipment deck. Gave raiyuu double strike, and unblockable, he attacked alone and Commander damaged the first player, next combat step: killed another player with trample. Also excalibur is super fun on a markov blademaster

I thought maybe they wouldn’t reprint Cover of Darkness because the Fear ability is not used much and very powerful. I was wrong 😑

Yeah I totally agree people don't like the set because it's really small and it's nothing compare to mh3 which came last month. But the commander playable cards especially the free run mechanic, and great staple reprint like black market connection, sword of f and f making it a great value

If there are the same amount of uncommon cards as rare or mythic does it really matter that WOTC put an uncommon label on it?

What is your idea for Nelly? I've been struggling to come up with a single direction / strategy for Nelly over the last couple of weeks. I eventually landed on primarily extra combats (more suspect, more goad with Nelly), and attack / combat triggers. I kept Slicer and Alexios in my build however. Would love to hear your direction.

I like the starter decks. They're worth it. But some singles beyond that are as far as I'll go. I'm honestly thankful that I hate the set so I can too (more or less) ignore it.
