WHAT I EAT TO KEEP MY VEGAN DIET ULTRA SIMPLE AS AN EXTREME MINIMALIST 🥑✨
Many people think being Vegan is complicated or difficult and have no idea where to start when trying to incorporate more plant based meals into their diet. I’ve been Vegan for 10 years now, but my meals are always very simple, nourishing and delicious, and things that any beginner could make. I’ll show some here in a full day of eating..✨

Since February I’ve been eating only real food. Nothing processed. No sugar or breads. Only carbs from potatoes and sweet potatoes. I feel 1000% better. I don’t crave food anymore. I was addicted to sugar. Chocolate and desserts were a must. I’m so happy with the results so far. I can also go for a very long period before eating. I do try to fast for 16 hrs but sometimes it ends up being 24 hrs. It’s also so much easier grocery shopping now. 😊

I cannot express how much I appreciate your non-dogmatic approach to food. There are several foods that I am intolerant to (they trigger migraines, digestive problems and skin issues) and unfortunately it includes some of my favorite foods like pineapple, garlic and kelp. I’m making a vegan chocolate cake for my mom’s birthday today! I’m not vegan (although I do eat a lot of plant-based foods), but my parents are vegan because I guess studies show it helps with prostate cancer. And it must be working because my dad’s PSA levels are extremely low even though he has an aggressive form of the cancer! So we’re so happy about that and believe the vegan diet is helping him

I loved watching this video, and I was so happy to hear you say "listen to your own body" and be your own barometer. I suffer with quite severe fructose intolerance, my body can't absorb or digest it, so even small amounts make me really sick (and not just fructose, I have to avoid all high FODMAP foods). Your meals look amazing and delicious and healthy, and I was a tiny bit jealous because 90% of it would make me ill (especially jealous of those amazing peaches, they are one of my favourite fruits, but they make me super sick everytime I eat one, so its like a special treat once every 5 years and then I suffer in pain after eating it). But you have at least inspired me to try being a little more intentional with my food choices, while still staying within the limitated "safe foods" that my body can digest. Anyone with allergies, intolerances, or malabsorption issues absolutely needs to listen to their body to learn what is safe and healthy for them. Thanks for the great content, I always enjoy watching your videos. ❤

Yes definitely- I can relate I am completely gluten intolerant. Fruit is great but there are still other simple and natural foods out there 🩵
I love your reaction to the peach 😂 I’m on my way to try to find some ripe ones today. Personally, last year I ate mainly potato/sweet potatoes, lightly cooked veg, fruit and usually had a big breakfast/lunch and stopped eating when it got dark (unless it was the week before my period, I’m way way hungrier that time of month). Man I had so much energy and easy digestion - lately I’ve been having too much vegan junk products and late night movie snacks 😅 thank you for the reminder to go back to what’s best for my body ❤

Full yes on the changing taste buds. From when I was vegan and then when I wasn’t, but I was on a pretty structured diet for competition, my palate definitely got sensitive. Sauces especially, now I’ll dilute with water or mix with something else so it’s not so sweet or tart or vinegary. Here’s what I’ve learned about people through the course of my being vegan and then not and then being a competitive bodybuilder and then not. The same person will question your choices while also applauding something else. They cannot reconcile that people are wildly different and with different perspectives. It’s exacerbated for vegans for sure, but to anyone a little outside the “norm” there is always this disconnect. People spend way too much time worrying about their neighbor and now enough time concerned about their own wellness. Always love your videos ❤

Very interesting video on a subject close to my heart (my stomach! 😂 ) Fresh veg and fruit and minimally processed ingredients are the way to go. Love a mixed salad! I enjoy cooking and like to try out new recipes, so have a big repertoire of dishes I can cook. I hate wasting food and I’m pretty good at using up fresh food in innovative ways, but can end up with an overfull pantry and lots of partly used ingredients. I’m having a kitchen declutter next week and simplifying our weekly menu to reduce the range of products I need to buy, and that will also cut the grocery bill too! I’m happy to eat breakfast on repeat, and lunches are often soups, salads or leftovers but I like to plan our dinners for the week

Love how simple you cook. So sustainable and achievable. I am curious what your main protein is. I had a nutritionist tell me I needed 30 grams of protein in a meal. I don’t think I need more than 30 in a day and that’s a lot for me. I love eating pecans, dates, and peaches in my lil treat bowl❤️

I like rice, and usually potatoes with either carrot or sweet potato or pumpkin, (whT ever I have), and I like to add a little capsicum and then avocado and hummus. I could care less about “titles”. When people feel attacked for not being perfect vegans they leave the lifestyle frustrated. Anyone taking action to consume less animals is helping. The actions are what matters.

@@Exploravore absolutely, I agree with you. Just felt the urge to adjust. For me, even if someone eats only plants but for health reasons not because of empathy towards animals, is not a Vegan. He or she simply lives plant based. It might sound a little drastic or harsh, but I am someone who really appreciates correct names for things. It is not about labels. ;-)

@marshaphonda7057 I hear you, and you are allowed your opinion. However perhaps something to consider in the future is whether comments like the above are helpful and encouraging to people to continue going on their vegan journey, or hurtful and discouraging.
I think the biggest problem nowadays is, that even organic food does not contain the nutrients it once had. That‘s why many people have deficiencies even on a whole food diet 😞

Eating local can help as many smaller farms are regenerating soil. Eating abundantly helps as well 💜

@@Exploravore 🙏🏻I‘d thought so. We get our fresh produce from an organic farmer in our neighborhood. But after 10 years of high carb low fat whole food vegan diet, I developed severe digestive issues, hair loss and feeling like crap. So with a heavy heart I reintroduced meat and egg and feel much better. I wished vegan worked for me 💚 Thanks for your content and for not being judgemental, which I was a lot when I was vegan 😅
The thing I miss the most about Cali is Trader Joe’s. That supermarket was perfection to me. We don’t have TJ anything alike in France. 😢

Ah yeah it’s a cool store! I was just there actually. Their produce isn’t the best but they have tons of great products at a really good price 💜
Her fun fact sounded more like Sheldon Cooper🤣

I am so sad and confused about dr. J.McDougall passing… only 77 years, plant based diet… of course I still believe plant based is the healthiest diet but why he passed so early… do you have any thoughts about it?

It is indeed a sad loss- he’s a legend. But just because you are vegan doesn’t mean you are invincible to death- there are many other factors, stress being the biggest one. The man worked very hard as a doctor, speaker, activist and businessman with his foundation to get the message out there and help people. Decades of this relentless work will take a toll. He also had a preexisting health condition from before he was vegan- he had a stroke at age 18. RIP to a great man 💙

72 yrs is a natural life. Beyond that, there is natural degradation and suffering. 77 is not an early death, it's a natural unassisted life span

@@peaceangel-rl2hf it is not natural. Science talks that if we are healthy, we can live at least till 100… 70-80 years is too fast deterioration… people in blue zones are living more than 100 years.

@@JJ-wn6kk People in the blue zones typically eat that way from birth. John McDougall did not grow up eating healthily and had a massive stroke when he was 18. He did not suddenly become healthy after that. His philosophy grew slowly out of observations, experiences, and research. That he lived as long and as healthily as he did is probably a testament to the healthy lifestyle he eventually embraced.

@veggirl1964 yes 100%. Also people in blue zones often have much lower stress- John did amazing but very heavy work for decades. This will take a toll no matter how well you eat 💚
Love how said, this not a monkey said, money do video! Everyone is their own expert. You can get inspired, but copying people is not have self authority
