Extreme Minimalist Wardrobe for a Cold Climate | Minimalism | Capsule Wardrobe for 4 Seasons

In this video I wanted to share with you all the clothes that I have. I'm sure that my wardrobe is an extreme minimalist type but I'd definetely like to reduce the amount of these clothes even more, especially home wear. But this wardrobe works for me very well at my stage of life right now, I wear all the pieces quite often. I prefer more colorful and a little bit feminine style of clothes.
Please remember that minimalism is different for everybody and we aren't here to judge anybody. Minimalism is more about your feelings and comfort and not about the quantity of your belongins🧦👒

I love how you portray normal minimalism. So often we see stark white walls, neutral colours, expensive minimalism - this is so much more real. Minimalism is so much more a personal thing, it's not going to look the same for everyone and you show that so well! Thank you for sharing!

It’s a cultural thing- I used to feel that it was not O.K to wear the same outfit two days in a row; now I don’t care any more. If it is clean, and I feel like wearing it everyday, I will. POWER to minimalists- we no longer need to be slaves to the consumer society. I read that in France, you wear what looks good on you and if people compliment you on your outfit, you wear it again. Here in Quebec we are very much influenced by the American consumer society. Thanks to minimalism this trend is being changed and now feel less pressure and wear old favorites again and again. We also have a very cold climate here. I definitely have warmer boots and a warm hat and gloves for the fall as well as mittens for the winter. Congratulations on having a wardrobe that suits your needs and not the marketing trends of others.

When I lived in California, I was in thrift store heaven. Bought an extensive wardrobe for very cheap (I worked in a job where I needed to dress business casual). Now I've been living in Alaska for two years, and I've only bought a good quality coat (actually husband bought for me when I complained my coat wasn't long enough...lol). I much prefer thrift stores, because if I end up not liking something as much as I hoped, I just re-donate it, and only lose a few dollars. Also most pieces have been washed a few times, so you see if fabric holds up well or not.

I love seeing a colourful minimal wardrobe - it can be done! Just subbed and look forward to seeing more of your posts. Oh, and I actually like your winter coat... it may not be colourful, but the black won't show dirt quickly. :)

I'm so curious how this compares to an 'average' russian woman's wardrobe. I don't typically think of Russia as a super consumeristic culture but be curious to hear about that!

Thank you for the interesting question! I’m sure that average russian person definitely has less things than people in Europe or America. But I don’t think it’s because of cultural reasons but because of low salaries and a lack of finances😅 Every female I know has a several times bigger wardrobe than mine and would definitely have even more clothes if she could afford it☺️ Wealthy russian people I know have giant wardrobes - not really different from what I’ve seen in videos about people in America or Europe.

A lot of people don’t think of Russia as a consumeristic culture and I think it’s because in USSR there was almost nothing to buy actually - so people were frugal and had just small amount of things. That’s what also is shown in movies - “conservative, serious and frugal Russians”😅 but nowadays the consumeristic mentality isn’t very different from the other world - people want to have everything they like. Only amount of money they have actually stops many people from purchasing everything they want.

Let me put it this way: minimalism is not that popular in Russia. At least yet )) even after several attempts of decluttering I have so much more. Of course it depends on whether you have work dress code, attend formal events, do outdoor activities, etc. Most women would have at least one pair of high heels and a dress for a special occasion. )) We usually have more "climate diverse" clothing and footwear: for very cold, cold, warm, hot weather. It is difficult for me to understand how you can live with 3 pairs of footwear. I have 5 pairs of shoes only in my office 😞 I don't think we are that different from the rest of the world and we definitely have many women who cannot squeeze another blouse into their wardrobe and they do not have anything to wear)))

Congratulations for adopting wardrobe minimalism at a young age. I only recently clued in how much easier life is when you have less and I’m almost 60. So much money wasted on unnecessary clothing over the years that I don’t even want to think about it.

Both dresses look very cute on you! Living in Lithuania, where winters can also be quite cold, I struggle to develop a minimal wardrobe that could be worn throughout the changing seasons. The best things that help with that are thick black tights that I can wear under summery dresses (well, one summery dress, haha) and multi-seasonal boots that can fit a thicker sock for winter.

I also have scarfs to stop my neck getting infections from the cold, and sometimes when it's really cold, like walking at night, with windchill, in winter here in mild Ireland, I could wear two thick, warm, scarfs. One for my throat, and one for my face to stop the outside of my lips or getting dry and chapped from freezing. It's kinda cool getting frost on my beard though. Reminds me of really winter survival guys, like in Russia, Alaska and Canada.

Love watching this video, it was so real and this is what minimalism is actually about. It's unreal for simple people to convert everything they own to neutrals in the name of minimalism ( even though it looks great, it's definitely not cheap ). I can't call myself a minimalist but I am trying to be and I definitely don't waste. I have clothes that are close to a decade old too, and I don't throw things away if I can't still fir into them, in that case I always give it to my friends or cousins who love them equally. You inspired me to to just still to what I have and keep wearing them as I like them anyway and not feel pressured to change them just cos it's not trendy to wear the same clothes over and over again.
